Hello all, a long time Mig user and fan. Help needed
« on: May 29, 2017, 05:02:06 pm »
Hello all!

I'm a long time Unimog user. We're an arable farm In a small Nottinghamshire village called Flawborough. We have had Unimog on the farm since 1979. We currently have a u500 and about to move to a u530. Over the years we have owned  u2100, u1600 and more importantly the original u1000. This was the tractor my father started our farm contracting business with, the first tractor I ever drove, the tractor I did my tractor test in when I was 16! It I was truly loved by all who worked here and drove it.

We sold it in 2001, as a trade in to Arthur Ibbetts. I think it went up north even over the border. My father is coming up to retirement. I would love to find it, hopefully buy it and if needed restore it back to new for him.

It was an Orange u1000 reg YVY 82V. The DVLA says it's still registered but is red. Does anyone out there own this moggy or know where it is!?

Any help would be wonderful.

Tom

Hi tom

Welcome to the club. Sounds like you have spent many an hour behind the wheel of a unimog! How do you find running them doing agricultural work?

In regards to finding your unimog, might be worth emailing a couple of the northern dealers. They might know who and where it's is if it comes into the work shops or even if the owner buys parts from them. You'll be suprised who knows what and who knows who in the unimog world.

Good luck

The u530 engine is awesome sounds fit as and pulls so much better than the OM906 👍
