Good morning all,
NJC i will be taking you up on that offer of assistance i am sure, but in the meantime once the workshop is set up (yes i bought a Mog and have now purchased a new house complete with Barn to house it) you will be welcome to come around for a visit and to have a crawl over it. I am not a perfectionist but i would like to have it in a condition where i am confident it will not let me down. As such over the next few years it is going to be overhauled and equipment added that is to my liking.
Casto, it is an interesting rig, i know some history and that is that it was owned and operated by a recovery company in Glasgow for a number of years, hence the Hiab crane, underlift, lockers and winches that it was sporting when i purchased it. Since i got it the Hiab has been removed and sold on and the underlift removed. Currently i am mounting a larger spec lift from a recovery truck and relocating the rear winch. Once done the lockers will be refitted and some new ones added. The only minor issue is that i only have 4 days to complete this and service it before using it for it's first event in October. You have to love a challenge!!!
Ian, I still own one green oval and dont doubt that it will not be my last. Though my Discovery had to be sold it has not gone far and is soon to be working for my father. This does mean that i get the opportunity to remove the improvements that i have made for the work that i did with it over the last 10 or so years at my leasure as i will still remain responsible for maintaining it for him.....
