I brought the 1000 in 1998 & the 1600 last september.
The 1600 tows better than the 1000 but hills kill them both.
The 1000 managed my muller mitetral trailer towing 8/9 ton loads of soil and **** for years.
As for cab shape I simply like square cabs.
