I insure mine as a historic tractor. No work use, hobby driving on the road is fine but not commuting (who's going to know?). I can do 1000 miles per year. Don't use red - it's not legal for show tractors.

All vehicles on the road need to be safe regardless of no MOT, if you have an accident and a fault is found they wil prosecute or indeed if they stop you and find a fault, that applies to tractors and vehicles pre 1960 that are MOT exempt.

Free tax and no MOT needed. But as moose said, you still want it to be in good safe order.
