Don't know if this is any good but that site in Leicester called sibbertoft is part of avalanche adventure they got it all clay pigeon shooting rage buggy's hovercrafts plus there offroad site and a feild for camping think they charge 200 for a club to rent there site for the weekend and being close I could get some landys to get stuck for us to laugh at and help with the cash flow its not a bog site but good for a meeting and photo shoot
-
true dat, it evaporates that quickly! :D anyway, you want to start a drinking topic start one in the off topic section, this one cant go off topic, its very important :-* ;)
-
I'll still need a chuffing barrel of the stuff :o :D
-
Don't think i could do it through drink, think it would take me to long :P
get some 70 percent vodka from russia, worth a try :D

no without the chipper on :P
i dont know, you might be able to sweet talk him into it ;)

Still recon ur doka is lighter than the blue 406 I used to drive for a certain donkey lol. I doubt I would ever get to drive the black one anywhere else unless i'd bought it lol
-
depends, if there are a lot of 406 owners in the north and only 1 or 2 411 owners down south it might have to be up north, or if there are a lot of 406 owners down south and a couple of 411's up here then it'll be down south. we're looking at a site near Barnsley at the mo, but where it is the security is very high, so might not be able to do it there.
The black mogs the one for towing, we'd probably tow the 411 behind the black mog and i'd drive the doka. the doka's nice if youre not in a rush, very smooth, but there's a lot of weight on it, the black mogs got POWER! and pulls like a train, plus it does 65 mph, which is always nice :P so unfortunately Neil, we dont need you ;)
Well I'm hoping to wangle a drive :P of the b :-Xlack one at newby if i can get moose to allow me :-\ to be fair the doka is a nice drive njc :o 8)
the 411's always more fun to drive at the Newby show :) ;) ;D
so far ive got june/august next year. just need confirmation on whos going and what location :)

still think you and Brian should tow it behind the Doka. Having said that I was hoping to see the black mog. Hey ho. I could always drive the black one for you Brian if you need to get them both there...
-
I only have one slight issue with a meet down south..... my yorkshire passport wont allow it and the sat nav gets lo :ost :D
-
It seems sensible to hold the meet as local as possible to the folk with the oldest vehicles. Driving a 411 any distance would be a real laugh, and even the round cabs would be a bit rough after a couple of hours?
I'd be happy to go almost anywhere. I'll either drive or fly if that turns out easier!
-
theirs plenty of mog owners around that area, but the only thing is its getting further and further north, and also further east, and so far (correct me if im wrong please) we haven't got anybody from that area of the country going. its an option anyway :) and certainly if more people from that area say they are going it will be put on the list of possible definite's, as its the only site so far we have in that area :P
-
Iv got a mate who lives just past kirby stephen if thats any good? he's got plenty of fields to choose from as well and he wouldn't be bothered about camping and that.
-
we went in the imp this time 8) but we do normally go in a german truck, which they love :D of course, their landrovers are better than anything we drive :-*
-
so your off to a landy club meet in either the g-wagon or a mog then!? lol bet they love you :)
-
we go camping regular, in fact i'm of camping tomorrow night, with none other than a group of landrover fans! :o :-*
-
Happy to pay for most things. Camping... Not done that in a while!
-
We can put that on the list mate, we've got 2 or 3 locations in mind up here at the mo, still looking for more. would people be willing to pay for camping, say if we went to a camp site near an off road course? :)
-
U better give me the directions and i'l :-[l set off now :D could poss use the estate bri. I know askham bryan collage has a little off road course
-
sounds like a good turn out so far :) so it looks like next year at the mo, with warby not available this year.
I was actually thinking about a field near me as i know the farmer, but if anyone else knows of a farmer who like to lend us a field we can try that :)
Dont worry, no mogs required if you dont have one :P
Im thinking of doing an organized drive to Gaganau for 70 or 75 years celebration ;D 8)
-
I would love to meet up - The Photo sounds great but sharing ideas and stories would be an even greater benefit.
As I have young children any weekend would do where I can camp but if I had to choose July & August are always brilliant!
....and if we ever want to plan a drive to gaganau I would be sooooo in!!!...
-
As you two know each other and I assume are fairly local, wouldn't it make financial sense to tow one mog with another and split the costs? You've also got the added bonus that if one breaks you can tow it with the other (sorry, there's the landy owner in me showing it's ugly face again!).
I'd be very interested in going to the meet - don't suppose I'd have a mog to bring though.
-
Yeah sounds good to me, again as long as its not to far otherwise ur towing me bri :p
-
I'd like to be part of this, but a journey in a 30mph vehicle needs to be within reasonable range.
I may have to find out what weight towing vehicle is needed to legally move my 411 around the country for a more reasonable alternative to driving to the event in the mog.
-
Im up for this Brian, were away with both mogs until september tho but any time after that count us in

Hello Fellow Unimog owners and fans!
As some of you may be aware, we have been approached by Michael of Chilterngreen magazine, who would like to come over to the UK for an article about Unimog owners and fans here.
This is a great opportunity for us all to meet up away from the internet and see each others vehicles :) Not only that, but this is also a great opportunity for the club, and will help spread word about us.
Obviously wherever we host the event will be far away for people, but only 2 years ago we drove down to Gaganau in Germany in the black u900 406 120, so hopefully that will encourage you to make the journey ;D
I'm thinking of doing it on a weekend, and camping out with a bbq and everything.
So basically, when would be a good date for everyone to attend, there is no rush, but some time this year would be great :P
cheers, Brian
