You can blow diff sand half shafts with a standard engine, it's all down to driving style and mechanical sympathy!

I've heard of them pushing 400+, but they're not road legal due to emissions

Yeah td5's are awesome. A coupe of lads tuned their engines. One ran 170bhp and the other was over 250bhp. The last one, the lad couldn't find clutches strong enough for it  :D

If you stuck that much power through an R380 box I doubt it would make it back from the tuning shop without breaking something. Have you seen how much power can be pulled from a Td5 though? Quite impressive to say the least.

If only Merc weren't so snobby - I'd love a G pickup but they're like rocking horse poo around here....

i was dissapointed in villager... it took him a whole 5mins before i received the message off him about the G wagon  :D :D

i still not realy sure why you would bother with a 6x6 that weights nearly 4t. might as well have a wagon or mog. the power would be nice... in my defender  :D :P

A locker between the two rear axles? They would need a diff just like the front to rear on a 4x4, and it would need locking to get 6x6.

I got some stick over that. Sat in the living room with the wife and some friends we had over for dinner, just ate a roast and half asleep on the sofa. G wagen appears on tv and I'm wide awake and drooling!

It's a nice truck, but I prefer the four wheeler.

if it wasnt so expensive and had a better battery life id have an electric one, i think electric cars are great and they have extreme torque!  8)
i have future plans for a combo van which might make it even faster than an sls all being well  8) its just gonna cost about £20,000 if i go for the gear box im thinking of :/

I'd rather have your van than an electric one. Speed is nothing without the sound that comes with it, and I have to say the big tuned Merc angines are right up there with the best of them. I absolutely love the SLR - I think they should stick that engine in an E class...

I think the SLS is a good choice. A very nice car. That said if I couldn't sell it on, I would probably go for an RS6 Avant.

SLS is my dream car, has been since i first saw one, i think they're a beautiful car. and after tonight i'd probably go for a black, the electric one is a bit pricey :P

i don't know if id go for an audi though? i think thats just me and my thing about vags though :P

sound always matters  8) but if i had a choice of any car in the world and couldn't sell it afterwards,  it would be a merc sls every time, i dont care that its not the most expensive car, they look stunning.

i thought spain was amazing, i never would have thought that things were that bad!  :o

McLaren for me to, money no object.  Having said that I have been, as a passenger, in a Jag XKR-S and it is a stunning car.  If you are into that sort of thing the exhaust noise is brilliant.

what would you have then? mclaren, ferrari, audi, or even the jaguar?

would have to be the mclaren for me, the fararri's nice, but to predictable, i like something different. and the audi just looks like a convertible audi basically. i would be tempted my the jag though, that looked very nice 8)

I used to love TG but as Ian said, it's all a bit stale now. I don't tend to watch it much these days. I wish they'd do the same kind of show for ag and forestry kit!

yeah, it would go into the average priced car section tbh.
i agree, its all getting a bit samey now, for example when clarkson made the joke about the st, he made the same joke when he tried out the focus st just a couple of years ago.

The Astra is hardly a reasonably priced car though is it, was it £17k they said?  In my opinion the reasonably priced car should be a sub £10K thing.

I am a great fan of TG but cannot help thinking the format is getting a bit stale now.

So, the new series has started.

got to say i was pretty chuffed that the new reasonably priced car is an astra, being a vauxhall fan i always think vauxhall dont get enough respect, theyre great cars really :)
Was wondering what the future car would be from the beginning, they recon itll be the ford, but im thinking reno, as its always the ones people didnt want that are worth something in the future, and it got a poor revue from them, but ive got to say it beat the others in the drag race, and also got the fastest lap time? :)
as for the race, i couldnt stop laughing  :D i think its such a shame that each series is so short :(
