I'll be using mine to drag a car in for scrap very soon and will get the weight from the weigh bridge on the way out when empty. Handbook says 1795KG for short wheel base 411.

You need to get him posting on here more. Although if he's anything like my dad he's not into computers!

I've got more info out of Brian alone than I've ever found on the net. Unimogs are such rare beasts that unless you can read other languages, you are pretty seriously restricted.

Stop it, you're making me blush! :D Got to give credit to dad as well, i get a heck of a lot of info from him :)

the figures depend very much on what eara of B series 411 they are quoting from, i believe the early 411 B's (32 HP) were fitted with pressed axles, pressed axles are much lighter than 3 piece axles, hence the weight difference between the b and c.
This will also explain the weight similarities with the 404 and 411 C, the 404 has pressed axles, lighter than the 411 C's three piece axles, but the weight gained in the chassis length on the 404 balance's it out :)

and dad says the 6 cylinder M180 lump is heavier :)

So many questions - And so few answers it seems! I've got more info out of Brian alone than I've ever found on the net. Unimogs are such rare beasts that unless you can read other languages, you are pretty seriously restricted.

Knowing very little about Mogs I find the weights in that link interesting.  I took the 404 to a weigh bridge, in chassis cab form with full fuel tanks and before I fitted the box on the back it was 1500kg front axle and 760kg back axle giving a total of 2260kg. Near enough the same as a 34hp 411.

Why is there such a weight difference between the 32 and 34hp versions of the 411?

Does the 411 have similar running gear to a 404?  I guess that the 4 cylinder diesel is heavier than my 6 cylinder petrol?

So many questions . . .

I like the sound of a mog meeting in the UK. This year or next? Only 2 hours away by trailer.

Close enough to be very happy that there's one coming this way. Unless I'm dead, or the mrs has arranged something else that will make me dead if I go, I will be there! :D

I realised that in my excitement of hearing about the possibility of a more local meet, I forgot to say what a lovely little thing Daniel's mog is. That was rather rude so my apologies for that. It looks in great condition, and that canvas is spot on.

I'm almost tempted by a little 411 myself. I reckon they would manage the sort of machinery I want to run, and take up a bit less space. If only they were a little more road friendly and had just a smudge more power! I really hope to make it to this meet because believe it or not I have never seen one in the flesh. It would be great to compare Daniel's little mog with your 406 and maybe a square cab if someone else joins in. I know there's a fella on here with a 1550 and another with a U1000 and U1?00 - but I can't for the life of me remember who they are!

That canvas is great :)  :o shame it won't work on the later once.

In talks at the moment about a mog meet just south of Birmingham, would you attend that?

Where's that then? My house? Good idea fella - I'll be there! :D
