I picked up two tons of gravel in it today and the fella in the merchants was pretty impressed with it too. Mogs have a real fan base with folk who know what they are don't they.
It's the first time I've carried a load on it and I was surprised at how it pulls. I found it rather strange that it isn't really any slower?! Still not at all quick, but it felt much better knowing that it didn't really notice the weight on the back.

my dad parked on double yellows once whilst going to the bank in town, he had the green mog, with chipper, and trailer on the back. anyway he came back out and a traffic warden was giving him a ticket, he started speaking to her asking why she was giving him it, and she said "cos you're parked on double yellows", to which he replied "well where else am i meant to park it!" :D
the clamping one is a classis, generally mogs dont fit in the average road side parking bay, and you get the odd person saying that its illegal parking, so you just reply with "what are they gonna do, clamp me?" :P generally theyre pretty good traffic wardens as long as you try to get it at least next to the kirb :)

People sem to have funny reactions to unimogs, especially in towns. I used to go shopping in my old U900 just to see peoples faces and thought i would show off by parking it in the supermarket car park, that was fine until I got to the barrier and had to get out to get the ticket (left hand drive) , by the time i got back in the barrier had gone back down :-[.
A plus side is that clamping companies seem to ignore mogs :D

Yeah, it's when your really low down in the revs and increasing rpm, it helps when you've got a load on the Mog. We can do it a lot in the green Mog cause it has a really deep rumble and has all the crane on and everything :)

I just really want to get it fixed up and tidy, but money is a real restriction until I've replaced the savings I've spent. I'm not usually allowed to use them for toy purchases but this one was a special case which the wife decided was justified! :)
Trouble is now I have to put all the spare money I make back, so I've got nothing at all to spend! :-\

Not a bad idea lol. Told you, you would enjoy trucking round in it

I couldn't help but add the tipper bit... I'm sorry! :P
Setting off car alarms sounds like fun. I could make a hobby out of that - especially around a couple of the local estates where the jobless folk seem to choose to live. I could nip through early in the morning on my way to work 8)

Can you manage that with s standard engine?
-
It's when you get your engine note just right to set of car alarms, that's when you grin :D

haha its funny how people react to seeing mogs, especialy if they are fuelled up :D I like driving through the middle of town just to watch the reactions on peoples faces :D :P the funniest people to watch are the JCB and tractor drivers as you over take them :D ;D ;D
oh yeah just rub it in, you having ur fancy tipper body now!! :'(

I had to go for a short drive to drop some logs off for a customer today. She had some big trees felled and kept the wood, but then couldn't split it (it's knotty pine and even I couldn't pop it with a maul!). I suggested that if I could have some of it, I'd split a load for her in return.
First thing I noticed is that this tipper lark is a bit good! Pull the lever and the whole lot is off - I could get used to life being that easy!
Anyway, on the way back home I pulled up to the junction waiting for a gap in traffic on the main road. The was a fella on the other side walking his dog. As I pulled off he must have heard the engine note and looked up - I kid you not I thought the guy was going to have a heart attack! He was hopping about, waving and pointing at the mog with the biggest grin I've ever seen. All I could think to do was grin back... I've never had that sort of reception from a complete stranger before. 8)
I think I made his day. I mean I get excited when I spot one myself, but not to this sort of level. I don't think I'd be that excited if I won the lotto!
