Now then take the straps off they're there because of the heavy snow blower also mod the seat it's what I did on our snowblower its so the driver could see down onto the cutter I'm a tall chap and I fit lovely in my 411 there great !

you might also notice in one picture she now has her new front springs on she is now very comfy!!!! but I would like to know should I put the wire rope straps back on as with these bolted back on the suspension is still very firm with no movement on the drivers side but it will move on the passenger side. if I unbolt these it rides perfectly. she just completed a 60 mile road run no prob!!!!

My 411 out and about
-
yes!!! got the screen shortened but now when I drive her my head is exactly at the height off the top screen rail!! im quite tall but I notice that the drivers seat is quite a bit higher mounted than the passenger seat is this the way it should be or was this a blower mod??? also engine temp wont sit very steady. sometimes it will usually bout 170 but at times it goes up to 190 then will suddenly drop back to 170 again im thinking it might be a thermostat issue. also my header tank cap leaks and the tank is dented. anyone got one????????
-
Any updates on this? :)

Sorted :)

I'm not sure if all hood frames are the same, as the size of the windscreen changed at some point in the 60's. I'm sure someone will be along soon with the facts on that.

http://www.unimogclubuk.com/show-off-your-kit/the-u1100-416-project-unimog-trialer!!!!-(off-roader)/75/ :) not to bad :P im used to doing jobs that involve spot welding, or short one inch welds, so im quit happy with the results in the link :P
-
what you like with a welder??? looks like you got a long date with one!!!
-
yeah, quite a rare beast, its an original british import :) shes very rough underneath, the whole sub frame needs re-building, and the cab mount bushes have been welded at some time, so the cab mounts have ripped from the floor.
the soft tops arent too expensive, its the frame that'll set you back. that and the windows, which really are expensive!
-
I presume its a truck cab??? is she rough??? im pricing the soft top and frame for mine!!
-
im dreaming of getting the cab off the westfalia :D
-
dreaming about it already!!
-
we've got plenty of time yet, its not until 2026! :D if i get the westfalia done though, i might go for the 70th :P
-
that would be epic when is that??? we have some time yet!!!
-
we drive about 70/80 miles one way every year to a show in the 411, thats where the fun is! plus theres the trip to gaganau in the 900 that we did :D i want to go to the 75th anniversary in the westfalia 411, want to come with? ;)
-
I don't believe in trailering my tractors I drive them anywhere when I come to the meets il make an adventure out off it I aint scared I once drove 60 miles to a show with an old Belarus with a caravan behind THAT WAS SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
What a lovely little mog. I'm growing a real soft spot for 411's... The wife would kill me though!
Somebodies got the bug!
-
That's the spirit... If you leave now you'll probably make it to the summer meet in time! :D
Would you trailer it long distance or make a holiday of travelling in it? I very much doubt you'd want to drive it that far but, well, you never know!
-
I really hope so!!! I don't mind traveling to a meet distance no object!!! I really like the mog she only has 2600 miles and 583 engine hours on her!
-
What a lovely little mog. I'm growing a real soft spot for 411's... The wide would kill me though!
Hopefully one day we'll get to see it all freshened up at one of the meets?
-
yes bit has a beautiful picture off normal and snow settings im going to run her this vintage rally season as she is then the cab is coming off this winter for a refurb as the inner arches arnt too good
-
PHWAH! :o
does it have the tyre pressures on the inside of the drivers door? and look after that power steering ;)
one of the first things id do is remove the blower mounting brackets from the sides, bad for rotting behind them.

Finally figured out how to post a pic so here she is!!
