Hi Guys,
Michael from Germany wishes you all a great New Year! Now, our article for OLDTIMER TRAKTOR is planned for issue 3/2015. It would be great, if all of you at the Meeting 2014 could send me a PM with full name (to write it correct in the article) and the exact type of Unimog (and year of built) your are displayed on the meeting/in the mud/on the field. ;)
Many thanks in advance and best regards from a quiet sunny Germany,
Michael
-
Hi Guys
Hope everybody is still mog-ing along!
Has the article been published? Would also be cool to see some of the pictures.

Nothings moved here for ages. I think everyone's gone on holiday?....
Or everyone is busy working on their unimogs :D ;D
I know I have.
-
I have a disc with pictures, however I have to put a water mark on them for stefan so they wont be online for a bit :)
-
Nothings moved here for ages. I think everyone's gone on holiday?....
-
Any news on the magazines or pictures
-
That's a pretty good result. Be good to see how you get on in yours if you make it next year. I'm hoping to follow it but it depends on the finances after our house renovation.
-
Bit tame :D Tim came third in class in breslau got to progress 416 !!
-
Haha! Well I haven't.... Yet! :D

For some reason i think people who where at the meet have tried this.....
-
I thought you looked like you were having fun spitting on it? Or was the heat just an excuse? :D
-
I would like to add my thanks for organising the weekend, especially Moose for putting up with my constant questions!
Next year I am going to take an empty trailer, that way I can get Neil's mog there without having to play with very hot parts on the side of the road ;)
-
Oh dear, what happend there then ? minor glitch or a bit more expensive than that.
-
This is my clearest memory of the event...
-
Yer good weekend and im sure we all took some abuse my favourite was the croquet lawn story sayin no more :o
And the power steering mayby a sore subjuect for a while ;)
Definitely looking forward to next year
Thanks all keith
-
Well I've got to start off by thanking you all for your help. A special thanks to Tony for wasting half of his day trying to fix my old heap (said in a loving manner of course) and to Ian for both rescuing me and giving me a lift back. It really is much appreciated and I can't thank you enough.
I really enjoyed the bits I didn't miss. The banter was great and Brian took the abuse well! :P Hopefully next year I'll get to spend a bit more time watching the carnage on the off road site. I've subscribed to Bart's channel on youtube to catch up with as much as I can
-
Many thanks for finding the site Ian and helping to organise the event, certainly a nice place to stay and play :)
That's good to hear Gerrard, dad managed to get 65 mph in the black one with the trailer on, he's says he was fed up of me being on his back end, well I certainly couldn't keep up! :D
-
Really good weekend next one needs a bit more off-roading :) will have 416 going by then ! Tim ibbot is fourth in class in the breslue rallye and is doing a night stage tonight.
Nice to meet you guys and gal this weekend :)
Moose
-
That is a more reasonable journey time :)
Was good to put some faces to names. Roll on the next one.
Ian
-
Amazing weekend guys. Only took 2,5 hours back and thr GPS showed we actually got upto 101km/h!
-
Yeah was a good trip back :) and cheers mate ;)
-
Hope all of you guys got back ok my rear brakes started leaking on the way home so that didn't help with my allready shocking brakes glad I left that bit earlier than planned now
If anyone is interested there's a load of videos on YouTube Bartmarley11 even the 1 of brian stuck
-
For those that missed out
-
Lincomb Farm, Lincomb Lane, Lincomb, Worcestershire, DY13 9RB
Hope this is the right address :)
Leaving now without mogs.
-
Just about to set off :)
-
See you all Sunday. :)
-
That would be great Neil :) a mixture is fine, I'm sure youd rather get rid of the thinner stuff that's not much use :)
Sounds good to me Gloucester, saturday would be nice, then Michael will have a few more mogs for the photo shoot :) but if you can't, no problems :)
And cheers Ian, that would be great :)
-
I am sure we can buy some logs from Tony if needed. Having said that I have some wood here that I can bring.
No I don't have a cruiser any more. Replaced my last one with the 404 and ML combination.
-
Just came out of the workshop for tea, spider frame is on, rear body chassis is on, Have just got to make a floor, wire up some lights, put on a couple of mirrors and check the fluid levels tonight and tomorrow night and if that goes ok I will try and get there Saturday!
If i dont get the mog together i will drive up sunday, in fact that is properly the best plan as i can pick Neil up somewhere along the way and save him the walk :o
-
Are we looking for cut/split logs for a neat fire or longer/thinner branch type stuff for a more campy looking fire? I have both here to some extent, so I'll throw some on if I have time tomorrow. All the branches will be fairly thin so perhaps a mixture of both?
I can probably load enough on for Saturday, but if you count on me for Friday night you're going to get cold I'm afraid! :D
-
Hi everyone,
The number of trucks attending is 8 including ours, and some people are hoping to turn up on the day and pay, so there may be more.
Also is Tony still able to supply firewood for the communal fire? we haven't been able to source any. Casto very kindly volunteered to supply some firewood, but I declined as I thought i would be able to source some :-*
Unfortunately we are not able to get a brand new Unimog this year, We had hoped to get a U423 there, but it was already booked for an event. we then hoped to use the newest Unimog into the country (a U213) but that hasn't yet been registered. so I'm afraid I'm going to have to disappoint on that one.
Do you still own a cruiser Ian?
Cheers, Brian
-
I've had a slight hiccup with my plans and will now be arriving early on Saturday. As usual, it's work related and means that I'd be driving in close to dark if I was to come on Friday. As I haven't really got all that much faith in the old girl I'm going to leave very early on Saturday to avoid traffic. I will then have the rest of the day(light) to call in reinforcements and regroup if something goes wrong.
-
Hope this good weather holds out for you guys at the mog meet this weekend, should make it a realy good do, specialy wi the time and effort put by the organisers. Looking forward to here what you all get up to.
-
IMPORTANT
I have just had a call from Tony, the land owner at Lincomb, he cannot get his mower up to the area that was planned for us to camp in. He says it is quite overgrown and would not be a nice place to stay.
Due to this he has asked that we camp on the farm instead. This is actually better for us as it is much closer to the toilets and showers. To get to the new camp area, drive through the farm yard - SLOWLY PLEASE, follow the signs for Lincomb Equestrian. As you come out of the yard turn right on to the grass sign posted as parking. Park up along the hedge on the right. Go as far along the field as possible. Apparently there are a couple of 1000 litre IBCs in the middle of the field so you will know if you are in the right place.
You should see either my silver Mercedes ML or my 404.
We can still have our fire :)
See you there.
Ian
-
Looking forward to this.
I have sent a rough map of the site to Villager. Hopefully he will either post it here or forward the link to all who have registered.
EDIT - See below post, this map is now out of date.
Villager, do you have the number of trucks coming?
Ian
-
Scrap the last its here
Thanks keith
-
My pass for mogfest still hasn't arrived so I take it I can come without it
-
Is there a schedule of activities over the weekend or is it more gossip, drive, poke fun and drive a bit more?
Can't make it till Sunday but I am so looking forward to gossip and advice. :D
-
I won't be too far behind then looking at getting there between 12 and 1 sometime
-
As said above, I am aiming to arrive around 11.30am and will put up some direction arrows for the camp area.
Ian
-
Now im worried will chat with you about this at the meeting good to no about it for the long runs
I noticed the other day my gearbox was hot and the rear diff after a 18mile drive but im sure I had the wrong oil then been replaced now the portals weren't hot
-
I'll be late on Friday I expect. I want to try to do both nights if possible. I can't wait - I've spent the last month thinking that the mog was unlikely to make it but now I'm more confident. After all there are plenty of trucks around to give me a tow if it comes to it... Isn't that right lads? ;)
-
as said, there's no problem turning up on the day, as long as the form is filled on site and the dues have been paid, the more the merrier :)
100 miles should be fine, just take it steady :)
Ian Rubie will be there before us I believe, as far as I'm aware he is hoping to arrive around 11:30 on Friday
-
Just read your post Bart, funny enough your 404 is the only Mog that can suffer from high speed fatigue keep an eye on hub temps and gearbox temp basically you have a 411 gearbox with twice the revs also your hubs are early tech so the odd high speed run would be fine but if you were to do a lot of high speed work go fully synthetic or change your oil regularly, the later option if you like to do a lot of wading :D
Moose
-
If I had time I would have driven my 411 to gaganau I like driving my 411 as much as the 406s you just need to keep the speed realistic I've done 100 miles in one day no problem just don't worry about peaple who cannot overtake something doing 30 miles per hour !
There's no problem to turn up on the day and pay, just better to know numbers prior to the event after all this is a non profit thing.
Been going through the doka today needs a bit more work really, but gotta go through the black addition sometime this week, good to go through things though.
All being well I think we will be there around 4 pm gonna be doing about 45 all the way,
Moose
-
Ear defenders need some myself lol and your right more toll on the driver than the mog I want to go to Kirton lindsy offroad centre its 100 mile from me that will be fun
-
Are road miles really that bad for an old mog? I can see how they would be pretty painful for the driver but the vehicle should be alright. I forgot to take my ear defenders on my little road trip today and now I've got a constant hissing going on in the background! Hopefully it will go away soon.
-
The only thing that is to much for a older unimog ROAD MILES ;)
What time will the gates be open from?
-
Still debating if it would be wise to drive over from SW Wales in the 411 or if this is too much mileage for the old girl to do in one journey. There and back. Also can I pay at the gate on arrival?
-
Looking forward to a great weekend. We plan to arrive latish on the Friday.
-
If your just turning up for the day, you can just turn up and sign the document on the day :)
If you're camping saturday night, just fill the form in with the relevant payment and a stamped and addressed envelope :)
-
Hello all,
Appears that I may be free on the Sunday morning to dash over to see you all. Can't bring the 411 but would be good to see, photo and chat about those that make it.
What paperwork do you want?
Phil
-
Good to hear Michael, Looking forward to meeting you :) do you need me to organise anything before hand?
Not sure on the route we're taking at the moment, but If we're passing that way, I'll post it on here :)
-
Anybody driving through tamworth or close to will convoy down if anyone is
Jc 10 of the m42 is right by me
-
Now, all is booked. So we will be at the meeting to report about for Germany's biggest classic tractor magazin OLDTIMER TRAKTOR!
We looking forward to meet you all!
Michael (writer) and Stephan (photographer)
-
Possibly being dense here (nothing unusual i hear someone in the distance cry) but is there an image of the 'Club' sticker and what are the approximate dimensions? :)
-
Put me down for 3 green unimog club stickers ill put 1 on my bonnet and 1 on each door
Thanks keith
-
A little note here.... If mine is broken I still want a meet sticker. I may have a little tantrum if I'm not allowed! :D
-
I will bring my pennies on Sunday along with a pair of tyres which i believe that you are aware of :)
-
The mog meet ones are free for exhibitors, and I'm gonna do a special show price of £1.50 for the .com stickers :)
-
How much Brian?
-
The mog meet ones are all in gold, and the unimogclubuk.com ones are available in green :)
-
They come in green :D
-
Everyone who brings a Unimog will be given a "MOG-MEET '14" sticker :) and I will also have "unimogclubuk.com" stickers for sale as well :)
I'll post pics of the up when i recieve them :)
-
Sounds good no stickers :o
-
Sorry everyone, the passes are all going to be be posted at once at the end of this week :)
-
I think that was the plan. As a few of us forgot to send said SAE :-* then perhaps they will be handed out on the day.
-
I assume that I would hear something as of the self addressed envelope I sent in with the forms
-
I should have received a pass?!
-
Just wondering if my forms have been received as I haven't heard anything or received a pass
-
I just had a look on their website. Can't decide between the old cast (and heavy) dutch oven or the light weight aluminium catering set. I know the cast one will cook better but it's going to weigh a bit and I think it may be worth having something that I can carry for other trips.
-
Neil they sell Dutch ovens (cast pots with a lid for hanging over a fire) at the army surplus place just up the road from me at Fromes Hill.
-
I found a little grill today so plan to fit chains to the corners so it can hang from a tripod over the fire. Now all I need is a pot to do the same.
Do we really need a PTO spit? I'm most of the way to having it made but then I'm not sure what we can cook on it?! Storing large chunks of meat safely in summer could be a challenge.
-
I just jacked the mog up to check the remaining brakes... Looks like I'm going to have to do all of them! ::)
Got anything against Ford Ranger's Bri? :'(
-
Hi Bart, your passengers should be fine :)
Cheers for that Neil :) Hopefully should help a bit :P
-
I've popped a post up on Benzworld to see if there are any takers there. As requested by the mods previously I haven't pushed the forum, but have just put it forward as the club meet. If people stumble across us via Google once they know we exist then that should be ok in my eyes.
-
Sound silly but have to ask are my passengers covered by my application form or will they have to send in 1 each for themselves ???
-
they can just fill in the normal form but not tick anything :) it's completely free for spectators. they don't need to put an envelope in though.
And thanks, the more people who know the better :)
-
Will you be able to get a spectators application form made up with a price I will get a few people interested if th price is right
Plus there is a local unimog u1200 tree surgery company will give him a bell see if he is interested
-
Hi Michael,
The oldest machine there will indeed be Barts 404. After that will be Ian's 404 and my Dad's (moose) 411 118, both of which are 1967.
As this is our first meet it is by no means going to be huge, so far we have received 5 applications, and myself and dad are going to take 3 unimogs in total, A.c.Price engineering are also aiming to bring a couple of 'mogs down. Tim is attending the breslau rally this year ( dad was also intending to go, but due to the fact that I've arranged the meet on the same weekend he's had to change his plans :P)
I have yet to hear from Tony at South cave tractors, but will contact him this week to see if he's interested :)
And this weekend I'm at Newby hall with casto, so I'll pester him to join us, he needs to have more faith in his unimog!
And it is open to spectators, just as long as they fill the form in (even if their not camping or offroading) and send the relevant payment :)
I'm also making a rule that says that there must always be 2 people within site of each other on the off road site, just so that if something happens there's someone there :)
Cheers, Brian
-
Lovely to hear my 1992 Unimog being described as young!
Would be nice if anybody interested could come!
-
Hi chiltergreen don't think my truck will interest you but I will b there with a 1960 404 it's far from original take it you're after an original 411
Also is this event just for mog owners or can some mates come along as spectators
-
Thanks Brian, may I ask, how many registrations do you have already and what will be the oldest vehicle so far?
Kind regards,
Michael
-
Hi Michael,
The address for the event is:
Lincomb Ln, Lincomb, Worcestershire DY13 9RB
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Also had some club stickers made:P
More updates to come :)
Cheers, Brian
-
Hi guys!
Can you give me the full address for the event, that we (my photographer and myself) can drop by on Saturday, the 12th, to produce our report for our magazine OLDTIMER TRAKTOR?
Many thanks and kind regards from Germany,
Michael
-
Also trying to work out how the heck we're gonna get the U423, 411, 406145, and 406120 down there, the 411's easy 'cause we'll just trailer it, it's the 423 that's the tough one.
Let Casto drive it down. Nobody wants to see his old shed anyway! :P
You just make sure your 145 and 411 make it. I need to see those.
-
Thought the 423 would be the easiest one Brian, if you need a driver for it???????? ;)
-
or Vw .
Moose
:(
-
Bart my 411 has a hydraulic power steering system and it'll be there, you know full hydraulic is illegal on road if it's capable of over 20mph what I would do if I where you is fit electric power steering of something like a corsa or Vw I think it has been done somewhere on the net.
Moose
-
Are any of these mogs modified I really would like to see a hydraulic steering setup and chat with someone that has done it
-
That will make a good photo op, 7 - 9 Mogs going round the farm track ;D Hopefully a few more will sign up and we will reach double figures.
-
Many Thanks Bart :)
Depending on If Casto chickens out or not ;) and if we bring 2 or 3 mogs, so far it is 7-9 vehicles, thats not including the U423, but that won't be used offroad anyway. Also trying to work out how the heck we're gonna get the U423, 411, 406145, and 406120 down there, the 411's easy 'cause we'll just trailer it, it's the 423 that's the tough one.
-
Brian,
How are we doing for numbers of trucks, including whatever you are bringing?
Ian
-
Form signed and in the post with a cheque looking forward to it
-
For the full weekend including camping it's £50 :)
Off-roading only is £25
Camping only is £25
-
£50 if you want to do both. Or at least I hope so because I've bought Brian a crate of beer otherwise! :D
-
Download my forms today is it 25 for offroading plus 25 for camping totalling 50
Of 25 for both just checking how much i need to put down on the cheque after the full weekend camping and offroading
Thanks
-
Good news chaps :) and 2 people have forgotton their SAE's :o
-
The question is, did you include the stamped and addressed envelope? A certain someone forgot that bit... ::) :-[
-
Finally engaged my brain and paid. Form to follow in the post Brian.
Unfortunately due to an event commitment on the Saturday i will only be able to make the Sunday. :-[
Plus i dont really do tents anymore unless they are tin with wheels ;)
-
Hi,
that sounds fantastic! And the date is perfect chosen, as my photographer and I will come to Britain for our annual photoshooting-tour at that time. So we could drop by for an report about British Unimog enthusiasts for our magazine LAST & KRAFT. Please keep me informed, how many vehicles will come and what the program will be.
Many thanks from a quiet wet and chilly Germany,
Michael

And I just found my insurance document... That was the bit I was really worried about. I've got a habit of filing these things "in a safe place"!
-
I've just sent my payment over to you. Still not posted the forms yet but will see if I can find them and do it today. Hopefully the mog will be in a fit state to get there. It's a bit on and off at the moment so it depends what crops up and whether it's running on the day. I may have to arrive in the Ranger if all else fails but will definitely be there one way or another.
-
You're kidding?! That's something I really would love to see. I filled out my forms last night... Being a bit slow on this but it'll get done. I'm not the most organised of folk!
-
Talking to MB at the mo about getting the brand new UGE U423 there as well :)
-
Just received Ian Rubies application, had a good laugh at his horse power! :D
-
Payment and application form received from Bredenoord.
Many Thanks :)
-
I'm in, form and cheque will be in the post today ;D
-
Count me in!
Looking forward to meeting likeminded people and more importantly other peoples Mogs!

Hello everyone,
Well, it's time to post up the details of the UK Unimog meeting, I know that many people have been waiting for this, and I've been rather slow at sorting it out, but it's here now :P .
The event will be held at Lincomb equestrian centre, and is to be held from the 11/07/2014 to the 13/07/2014, as can be seen by the document attached.
The event will be a gathering of Unimog fans, and there are potentially Unimog dealers attending, this thread will be updated when this is confirmed. We will be having a communal fire on the evenings, where we can all talk and share stories :) During the day there is an off-road site to have a play on and see what your mog can do.
To sign up for the event, simply fill in the form attached, and post it to the address shown on the form with the relevant payment and a stamped and addressed envelope, a pass will then be posted to you.
There are limited spaces so it's a case of first comes first served :)
Please put a post up on this thread if you have sent the form and payment :)
If there are any questions or if anybody that's helped with this has anything to add feel free to chip in.
Also, please share this with anybody you think would be interested.
Cheers, Brian
