Sounds like everyone's had a bit to do then! I was thinking of trying to start my cab at some point, but I may just leave it until after the meet. I don't want to get in there and find more work then not have it ready. That would be a really sad day!
It's great to hear that the little 411 is doing something useful. I really like it when older kit gets a chance to prove itself.

I recently bought a 5ft box grader and have been having some fun sorting out a driveway with the 411. Its given me a chance to get some use out of the 3 point linkage.

Right then guys. I've been checking in here on a regular basis and nobody seems to be doing much mog related stuff! What have you all been up to?
Still trying to get around to finishing repainting/tiding mine, just the cab left to paint, most of the other jobs are done now.
With the decent weather we've had, there is plenty of other jobs to be done, and reasonable busy work wise, leaving not much time to work on the mog.

If you put it back together and have a pile of bits left over we can all search our trucks to find where they go. Failing that we can buy them from you as spares! ;)

I will be there but my mog won't be! its in too many bits and not long to put it together, maybe by the end of the year, thats the plan any way.
Yes I am keeping the Mulag cab,plenty of room and one good thing about that is it has a fibreglass roof top, so no rot. Its turned out alright, worse bits where the door tops but there are now 80-90% new metal so they look like new!
Just hope I can remember how it all goes back together! Be a lot of posts then! :)

Sent your application form of yet? I have, but I'm still waiting for my return papers, they're always a bit late though the newby hall job :)
Are you planning to keep the mulag roof? I would with it being a bit rare :P
And I'd leap at the chance, but I'm busy enough as it is :D

Hello Neil, I have been doing what seems like nothing but mog stuff! I have had about 10 days on the cab metal work and probably 4-5 more to go, maybe more!! its going ok though, one side wasn't so bad and thats done and the other was worse so that came out altogether, and is much easier to get at everything. Just the back to go and thats like what Brian has just done, bit around the bottom, if you want some more welding practice Brian you are welcome!!
After that just a few more little jobs then paint or powder coat! it was yellow so I'm going to keep it that way, you will see her coming then!
Not long to Newby Hall, looking forward to that!

I like making stuff too. I just don't think I can bring myself to fire up the lathe and make something this complicated when I may not use it again! A soft link seems like a much easier option.

Not nerdy at all! It's not really mog related. I can't shoot it. It's not female and good looking. There are more simple ways of making good food. Would you care to clarify why I should be keen to do it? It fails on all the points I consider important in life! :D

Well I've been busy with work mostly, we're quite busy at the moment so can't complain :) just means I haven't had much time for the forum though.
We've had 2 bbq's recently, cracking weather at the mo, had some heavy rain the other day though.
As for the spit, how about something like a bit of kingspan insulation, tough stuff :) or you could make a slip clutch using ball bearings, 2 flat round plates, some nuts, bolts and springs :P

My new sleeping bag arrived for the mog meet and I need to get a new tarp because I think a tent may be too much effort to put up. I also sorted out a fallow buck on the last day of the season so have been busy sorting that out and bagging it for the freezer. Hopefully the weather will hold out and I can have a bbq this weekend to cook a load of it for my friends!
I've made up a half barrel sized bbq for the meet and am now wondering what we can cook on it, and also if I can fudge something together so we can have a pto powered rotating spit?! The spit is easy enough but I'm a bit stuck on what to use for a long shaft? I was thinking as it will be unguarded I want to go straight from the yoke on the pto to a shaft that can be snapped by hand. It needs to easily turn a few chickens etc but if anything snags it then it will break. Any suggestions? So far the best I can think of is like a topper rubber donut joint, but made from polystyrene?
