They did say after the really harsh winter a couple of years back that farm tractors could run on red as they tried knicking a load of them after they helped clear snow. If this is still the case I'm not sure. Ur also restricted with mileage from base if you run red
-
I am considering hiring it yo my work for snow clearing the reserve for the winter months might be better to reg it as a plough
-
As far as I can tell the only restrictions worth noting are that you cannot carry goods, or drive on the road for business use with red diesel. So if you were to drive it to work to do a paid non agricultural task you would have to run road fuel, Any products of that work unless for your own farm cannot be transported there/back.
There are various opinions about what you can get away with, but it's a bit of a grey area.

Whats the score with ag reg mogs, i live on a smallholding and work 50 miles away as estate manager at a wildlife park, would i be legal to take mog to work if i needed to .. snow clearing etc?
-
I'm not sure I've seen that? You've got all sorts hiding in your yard haven't you! :D

I have a defender 90 that I managed to get on Agricultural tax class a few years ago :o I quite like taxing that one :)
-
The Defender is a commercial so it could be worse. Imagine how much they'd shaft you for if it were a station wagon!
-
The mog equals out the amount I'm robbed for my defender! Just need to work out how to get the defender tax free lol
-
I had my tax reminder come yesterday good idea getting 1 ova on them might just get my free tax disc posted at there cost :D

I just had my note through from the DVLA, which caused much ranting and debate over how much they were planning to rob me for this year. What a pleasant surprise it was when I opened it and it was for the mog.... Zero fee! Now if I do it online not only do they have to print my disc but they can post it to me too. This is actually going to cost them money! Simple things please simple minds, but that's made my day! :D
