Thanks for the picture Shaun. I'm not sure it will be long enough as the cab part looks to be a crush fit to the bush? I could space it with washers but then I'd need to sleeve the inner too. I might just have to buy one!

Moose - what you're saying seems to suggest that messing with it could be a bad idea?!

The only issue with cab mounts is throttle position as its sensitive to movement, when I've got back to my trialer Mog I'm planning to use a cable but that's becomes I will have lots of cab movmemt.

Yeah that looks pretty handy. I'll see how I get on with the bit I've got and if that doesn't work I'll try one of those. I don't mind a bit of machining - it's just a question of how hard the rubber is.

The front cab mount looks like lots of landrover bushes, I will probably use something like an NTC1772 (http://www.paddockspares.com/ntc1772-bottom-link-bush-rear-axle.html) when it comes to replace mine.

Will.

Right chaps. I've had a little idea that I thought I'd run by you all to see what you think...

One of the things on my as long as your arm "to do list" is the front cab mount. The stud has sheared off meaning that it's only holding with one side. Not ideal. After a quick look around it seems this little metal tube with a bit of bolt and some rubber in it costs about £80! Eighty bloody quid! Well I'm not paying that if I can help it, so I've been searching for a better solution.

After a bit of measuring I've found that I need a piece of rubber that's 60mm long, 40mm round with a 10mm hole up the middle. I've found such a piece of rubber in a boat shop. It's a replacement keel roller and costs, wait for it.... £4! It's 44mm round and 91mm long but I'm sure I can fix that on my lathe.

The rubber that's in the original mount is pretty solid. Do you think this idea of mine will work? I'm planning to glue some threaded bar into it and glue it in the old housing after burning out the old stuff
