The bigger "banana" gear is available in Germany as a remanufactured part. Spare parts are available too. For the smaller version there a re no spares available. It is important to get it completely. The fastening brackest are often left at the Unimog and later the gear is sold without the fixtures.

Markus

Exactly! I can imagine some right bidding wars would break out on certain things also

It's just gone up 😏(only joking ) we could do with a wanted section but to be fair evey one would have a list as long as their arm

It's the story of my life... Sell something for a tenner and find something I want for a hundred! :D
I'd be hugely grateful if you would be willing to part with it.

I'll bring it when I pick my tyres up

I think they're about £900+VAT from Merc. Vos list them at £3??+ used but rarely have any.
The condition of the gears and seals would be my first place to start. If they're left standing the top gear is above the oil level and can corrode, which then causes slack/failure when they are returned to service. I understand they're not cheap to get parts for.
I'd pay £500 for a good one. Everyone who I see with them wants more, but I think any more than that and you may as well buy new. Also, make sure it has the mounting bracket included. I wish I could even find one. It's the last bit I need to get mine doing what I bought it for!
