This set will be easy to find. The only difference is the registered top speed. It is now 61km/h not as original 53km/h. So I can drive on motorways, but this is not my intention. In Germany there are "Kraftfahrstrassen", which can look like a normal road or sometimes like a motorway, but the minimum registered speed is 60km/h. Sometimes it is tricky if you are on a trip. If you have to bypass these roads it can be a long detour. The fine for misuse is only 15 Euro, but your insurance coverage is gone in case of an accident.

In the 60th the speed limit was 50km/h, thats why the Unimog 411 was registered with 53km/h.

Markus

This will be easy. It is the smallest serial produced trailer a Dethleffs Miniglobe. My Unimog 411 is the one with a rare Westfalia Hardtop. Less than 100 ps. were manufactured.

Markus

I'll keep an eye open for your trailer. But among so many unimogs this won't be easy. :)

Don't worry! This will be the 30th anniversary og the UVC. It will take place in a nice area called Rhoen. Arround 300 Unimogs, most of the older style are expected. If you see my Unimog with the smallest trailer, ask for Markus. The Ziegler brothers will do there best, to make this event unforgettable. It is the third time in Oberbach, near Fulda.

See you.

I'm looking forward to going to UVC meeting this year. It should be really good in the South of Germany. Lets hope that there is the usual high quality of unimogs on show.

Hi Phil,

all my spare part lists do not indicate a left side driving version. Are you sure this exists? The lights of a 411 are that poor that it will not blind the oncomming traffic. Ma you can substitute the glasses from a car.

Yes, the MB Trac with round front light is using the same housing. Do you need the glass only? That is not so expensive.

Casper I think is the chap, but the part is €240 I think not so long ago you could get this part from Mercesdes for about half this money I think it's the same as early MB trac.
Many thanks Moose

The U 1400 has steel side plates. You are asking for those? They are made from standard profiles, but you can also buy original in Germany.

I am more dedicated to the old Unimogs Boehringer 70200, 2010, 401 and 411. But I may can help you.

Check this web page and the pdf file for download.

Hi Moose,

there are two types:

411.118 short wheel base, only available the short load area.

411.119 long wheel base, available with short or long load area. The short load area allows you in Germany to registrate the Unimog as LoF (farming tractor or forest tractor). The long load area does not allow refistration as LoF in Germany.

The long wheel base is not so sensitive for pitching.

Markus

the next highlight is the UVC festival in August in thr Rhön area.

Every one can participate without being a member of a club. You only have to registrate at the relevant club, paying a fee (approx. 25 Euro) and travelling to the location. Most of the paticipants sleep on the Unimog or in a tent. It is a big BBC, approx. 300 Unimogs.

If you participate as a daily guest without Unimog, it is free of charge. The best day is Saturday, because on Sunday a lot start their trip back home. If you need more informatioin let me know. I will be in Goldenstedt for sure.

For some reason I can see njc, brian and my self having a road trip over to some meets at some point! Thanks for the links, I'll have a look.
There aren't many people over here that have more than a couple. After the dealers I think moose has the most in the uk! Lol

If you want to see pictures of the UVC summer festival, check www.u-v-c.de
Under "Sommertreffen xxxx" you will find hunderets of pictures from different years.

Hi and welcome to the club :-) lovely to see some one collecting more than one mog especially the early ones.
It would be great if you can post some pics of the german mog meets as we don't get many more than 6 or 7 in one place!

Yes, there was a Frog eye, built as 401 from 1953 to 1956. After introducing the Westfalia DvF the Westfalia B was still manufactured as 411 from 1956 till 1961 with slight modifications coming from the 411. Frog eyes are becoming more popular after years where they were scrapped instead of collected. No so much Unimogs are left of this style, most are eaten by corrosion.

This is my Unimog 411b with Westfalia Hardtop No. 86.

Markus

Dear all,

thank you for the worm welcome. Yes I am with Unimog many years. I own a few very rare things like an original Westfalia Hardtop for a convertable Unimog 411, less than 100 pieces built.

My wife likes to go camping with the Unimog. The trailer is the prototype of Dethleffs Miniglobe 1.0. The serial production was phased out after less than 20 pieces. For long distance travel it is good to have something to sleep in. Sometimes the weather is still poor when the big Unimog Festivals take place in Germany. And the load platform was not really comfartable.

@ Brian,

think about selling the Unimog, sometimes there is no second chance to get something similar again.

Here some more pictures.

Regards,
Markus

Hello Markus and welcome to the forum :)

Very nice collection you have there :) I actually have a 411.120, so the Westfalia 411, rather than the 401. I did know where there was a frog eye 401 once but when I contacted the owner to see what they wanted for it, they never got back to me.
Sadly my Westfalia will soon be up for sale, as I just don't have the time to finish it, and I have my eyes on a much easier, less time consuming daily driver project. It will sadden me to see it go, I take great pride in owning it, but I'd much rather see it go to someone who will finish it and look after it, than to see it sat where it is.

Cheers, Brian

Hello Markus, and welcome to the forum.

You're a lucky man to own three Unimogs of this vintage. When you have a moment, can you post up more photos of the Westfalia? I'm sure Brian the site owner would be very pleased to see another of those. He owns one himself.

Hi to all Unimog fans,

I am Markus from Germany and I am an Unimog fan since many years. I own a 411.119 (U441b) from 1963, my daily helper, a 411.119 (U441c) from 1974 under refurbishment, build 83 pieces befor phasing out 411 production. And a 401 Froschauge, the "Frogs Eye" style Westfalia B cab.

To allow longer trips we have a fitting trailer to sleep in during our journeys.

Regards,
Markus
