I'm not sure I can accept that advice from a man who bought another mog before his first was fully sorted?  :P

Moose if its to much of a problem I would reluctantly let u have a fine 406 for the 1450 ;-)

Njc, just buy the 3.5t trailer. Ur only just getting your mog sorted

Is that because it's actually quiet in there or because he's deaf from driving a 406 for years?! :D

Dad has reported one problem to me about the 1450, he keeps saying it feels wrong to be cutting a paddock in such a quiet and roomy cab  :D

Looking good moose. I regularly find myself wishing that I'd bought a long wheelbase mog. Most of what mine does involves use of the rear bed, and mine's shorter than standard.

How do you find the turning circle on the 1450? Huge compared to a 406 or not too bad?

Its an odd shape, fitting behind the DIN mount, so I have no real idea. South Cave said it would do, though!

Think the massy on the estate takes 40ltrs of oil to fill its rear axel not sure many mogs have that lol. How bigs your extra tank?
Title: Re: What's everyone been up to recently?

Its only a 12 tonner, but it needs all the oil in the extended tank that I had fitted to tip it. Back axle feels a bit light just before the load comes off!

That's a good size trailer on the mog. I could do with one that size, just my 406 won't take the weight on the axle

Mog at work. Although the trailer looks fairly full, there will not be that much more than 12 tonnes load on.

Does anyone have a good source for the rocker switches which fit in the large cutouts in the dash? All the regular ones are too small.

Oh dear! Time to chuck a tarp over it and stick it in the car park by the sound of things... Sad times!

Mog pictures are always good. There's some nice kit there. ;D

Who knows, the Box might arrive today.

Well I've also been busy, lads holiday in zante, work, Unimogs...

Not much going on here regarding Unimog, Just sticking some U1000 axles under the landmog  :P I'll have to update the thread :)
We've also got the mulag arm on the 1450, with the fingerbar cutter, so that's kept us busy, and we're just on with fitting rear linkage to it as well.

I've been the same realy, works been busy so haven't been on here much! Well old kassy is still old and rusty but still running (just). She's seems have developed a fault on the clutch. There seems to be air in but no leak anywhere!!!
Other news I'm now the owner of 2 unimog u900's :-). The new one ( the black beast) is great fun and can't help but put a smile on my face!! She's tweaked so she pulls like a train and puts smoke signals out when u boot her!! I got a group of scouts the other night. They were messing round on a walk down the singal track lane where the mogs are so dropped a gear and gassed them!! Yes I'm a big kid at heart!!!

Haha! That's just the sort of thing I'd do. There's no pleasing some folk so you may as well get a giggle out of them and wind them up.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who falls behind on repairs. If I have the cash after doing the house I would really like to get my cab and seals sorted this winter. I'm planning to park the old girl up at Tony's for him to give her some love. He'll do a much better job than I could even dream of doing myself, and it keeps him in winter work. I just hope the job doesn't get too huge!

Hey ho, back to the grindstone... the chap I work for is off with his kids today so I've got a two man mowing day to smash on my own. It's going to be a long one! ;D

Not been doing much on the mog except sprucing up the paintwork. Did have a rather amusing episode lastime i went for a decent spin in it thow.
Me and a mate went up to the lakes camping. Before getting to the campsite we stopped off for a bonus pint in Ambleside, while stood outside the pub chatting, a bright yellow Lamborghini tore down the main street at hell of a lick with a F1 type roar from the engine.
As we were both drooling at how good it sounded and looked, this save the earth type woman came up to us and said "that was outrageous, totally unnecessary"   After agreeing with her how he was just showing off we thought 2 can play at that game! so supt up and walked round the corner to the awaiting mog, a quick lap back round the one way loop and we were right on track to give this woman summat to chelp about good an proper. Spot lights on, main beam on, second gear engaged, pedal to the metal. Now my yellow beast wasnt as speedy as Flash Harrys Lambo but by gum it looked and sounded the part as i coasted past the busy beer garden, the deafening roar and thick cloud of black smoke from the exhaust really was a head turner, nicely adding to the occasion.
Maybe outrageous and unnecessary maybe even childish but blooming funny, wish i could av heard that womans response to our yellow drive by!

Unfortunately that's what happens, life gets in the way.

When I got my latest 404 home I was full of go to get her done, then I had other work to do in and around the house, things got really busy at work, so the mog fell down the priority list!
This Sunday I said I would make an effort to do something on her, (all progress is good progress!)
So I took out the gauges of the dash, before I owned her, it had previously had a short circuit and melted a lot of wires. So I'm doing a little mod while I'm at it!
Will have to update my thread, and will keep trying to do bits now and again

I also see a mog on the way home the other day, working on the road (Tarmac wagon) will dig the picture out and post it

Cheers again
Shaun

Hey guys. It's dawned on me that I've not visited the forum anywhere near as much as I would like recently. We've been doing a lot of building work and I've only just got to the stage where I can sort out some decent internet, so thought I'd drop in and catch up.

What have you all been up to over the last couple of months? Any interesting mog stories to tell?

I stalked a U1000 with a very nice trailer the other day. Spotted it parked up as I was driving so I turned around and pulled in to have a look. There was no sign of the owner sadly, but I sneaked a couple of pics before heading off again. In other news my axles are seriously leaking now. I need to take the old girl apart soon and sort it out! ::)
