I think it's all above board. Never seen any "do as you likeys" in there yet!
-
The half inch steel plate they use to cover holes in the road so you can drive over them. You can find loads of it quite cheap in our local scrappy. He's one of the few that will sell to the public at the price he gets for it when he weighs it in - top bloke!
do the "scrap men" take that in? ??? completely legally of course and with the owners permission.
-
might as well go hardox plate, probably about the same strength and half as thick, and half the weight :D
-
Sounds perfect! no i've not heard it called road plate either
-
half inch! think thats a bit thick :P

whats road plate? ???
-
So make it from road plate I guess? That'll take some cutting!
-
not all the old ones were, mainly 401's and u25's 411 were mostly steel ;)
and thin plate? whats that? :D over engineering is the key! just like Unimogs :P
-
Fair enough. In that case make it with very thin plate so you could cut it out with a jigsaw.
Old Unimog beds were wooden? Just run it off of the 411 so it doesn't look out of place? :D
-
im a nerd, it would have to be metal to blend in :P :D
-
I don't think it would even need to be a steel plate arrangement? Just a wooden frame that bolts onto the three point would handle the torque needed to run a spit. You could probably make it with 4x2 and a sheet of ply?
-
Why not just belt drive? Would be easier I should think and pulleys are really cheap.
the man has a point! :) (y)

we have a hand held one, so could make stencils and cut around it, or we know people with plasmas ;) and thats just getting complicated :P but i did think of bike gears ;) the load wouldnt be that great, im sure if it has some kind of lubricating system it would work :)
-
hope you have a plasma cutter then ;D how about 2 speed rotation?? not sure why I'd want 2 speed but think it would be something different :D
-
Lol yeah Brian I'd like to see that! Just watch it when u bend over to pick some up :D
:o
I thought about pto as well but run it through a home made reduction box like bike gears :)
yeah, thatd be pretty awesome! 2 x4-5 mm steel sheets plasmad to the shape required and bolted together with bushes, with 2 shafts, 1 at each end holding maybe 2 cogs each for chains 8)

haha, roaming through peoples tents saying im looking for some meat! ;D oops! :P
-
They say you know meat is done when it falls from the bone... When bits start flying off we could go looking for them? Like an easter egg hunt but with cooked food?! :D
-
Class it up a bit and turn it with a PTO?
wouldnt be able to get it slow enough, not unless it went through a reduction box. :-\

i dont know a butcher, but i'm sure i'll work it out ;D
-
oh yes. don't think anyone will notice one of 30 missing :D
-
HAHA! you know where theres plenty of them ;D
-
i think we can beat the 40 chickens some how, after all there is a mog in the equation ;D horse anyone?? lol
-
that is happening at a future club event! :o :D member will have to buy there own chickens though ;)
