Title: Sunday 29th September Slab Common, Bordon
Post by: IanRubie on September 11, 2013, 07:49:58 am
There is another AWDC drive round event at the end of the month.  All being well I plan to be there in the 404.

The AWDC have cancelled all their Bordon events for the rest of the year :(  No real explanation why.

Wonder why that is ? Is there still a heavy truck trial scene in the UK nowadays. When we have finished the 416 off-roader we will be looking to do some events in the UK.
I'd love to do a speed event with offroad trucks but I think the rules and legal is complex I think that's why the breslau is held in Poland not Germany.

I think the closest thing you will find these days are the larger Winch Challenge events / Endurance events such as the King Of The Valleys, which is held at Walters Arena. Will have to go and watch this one year.  :)

It is not confirmed but the story is that drivers at the AWDC pay and play days were regularly going into the no go areas and the sites were being left in a mess rubbish wise so the AWDC were banned from the Bordon MOD sites.  Other clubs are still allowed on the sites.

Shame that, when the camper is done (it's getting there) gonna visit more of these events and enter when I learn more about them, breslau first  :)
Have been asked to mechanic for Tim Ibbott at next years but would prefer to race, I'll see how we get on with 416 first.

The events in question are only pay and play days, the AWDC still run competitive events.
