Yes you will be able to drive a 406 on your current licence.
The law does not differentiate between vehicle types, just the vehicle weight,

Hello Tom

Business is going well, the economic effects of the lay-offs from the Oil industry have effected peoples disposable income somewhat though.Sign of the times I guess.

There might be dealer manuals available online for you Machine, they have exploded diagrams of each assembley as well as list all the part numbers.

I will have a look now for you

godt påske

I have fixed up a couple of WW2 Jeeps and sold them on to new owners in the UK.This is while I have been waiting for my new Gearbox to arrive for my Mog.Its going to be a bit of a scramble to get the Mog back together and out working again, since I am sitting here in the scheduled time I took off to complete the swap.Guys come back from Holiday next tuesday and the Mog is still a rolling chassis in the workshop.

Who knows, the Box might arrive today.

For real grip off road, the Agri tyres are hard to beat.

For me the MPT-80 tyres were absolute pants off road.I bought some 60kmph agri tyres from germany last year.I only trundle about so they do for me.I found them by just googling my tyre dimensions untill somthing suitable came up.They were about £450 each including delivery to Norway.

I don't do alot of road miles so can't comment on their durability.

I took the plate off the bottom and adjusted a nut on a rod on the bottom of the Box.This gave me more "reverse gear" I simply screwed in inwards, along the shaft.this moved the forward/reverse lever further back.

The shaft is cross drilled and the nut castleted ,so if you go past the factory hole for the split pin,you have to lock it with another nut screwed ontop of it.

This has so far sorted my problem of it hoping out of reverse. The larger gear felt a bit sharp on the edges, but I think that was a result of the selector not picking it up correctly. Its a simple fix, took longer for all the Oil to drain than to do the job.

Last weekend,I went camping with my missus.

Had some trouble with the Mog jumping out of reverse when under load. This does not happen when I am towing something in reverse down hill however.I wonder if the linkage is out of adjustment? ITs a 416 that was ex Army, with four forward gears, you can only engage reverse  in
low ratio.(apparantly thats normal for Military Mogs?)

Is non Hypoid EP80 the right stuff for the Gear box on this wagon?

To be honest the Winch Cradle is a bit of a Bodge job.I grafted it from the nice mount on the U1000 to the Schimdt plate on the 416 in about two hours with the welder and Gas Axe.Its a bit low,but not too bad and the great thing is that you can draw the Cable under the Machine and pull rearwards.

I will build a higher mount when I get a bit more time.

Not the best Photo but you might get the idea.

Hello Moose and Robert.S.

Moose. You might have met me at the APF,I went in 2007 and 2011.

I think the U1000 has done about 2000Km since I had the Cab off it.Its such a stunning Truck but I bought the other one and I need the Shed Space.

Here is a picture of the Camper I made for the 416.You can sit in bed watching TV whilst cooking a fry-up.
