A good friend of mine is embarking upon swapping engines in his camper from a 208D to 310D.  ???

Does anyone know where he can get workshop manuals for both from? He has been helping me with the U1000 and was overjoyed with the manuals. He has been to a local Mercedes commercial parts outlet but they were less than helpful.

Well it was the father in laws, it has stood idle for 14 years and is now in my finances name. Consequently it is now my basket case!  :o

As it says above. Finally we got Wales Rally GB the other weekend and the Mog performed admirably.

Just three of the bits of entertainment we found.

Introduce Yourself / New member 'Rabbit Recovery' (me)
« on: September 25, 2013, 10:37:38 pm »
Hello folks I thought as I have just posted for the first time asking for help that I would introduce myself and explain the user name.

My name is Paul and I hail from Worcestershire, I have recently purchased a U1000 recovery truck that I am in the process of refitting with a spec lift having removed a Hiab and lorry under lift to use as a stage recovery vehicle on rallies and on my small holding. I am new to Mog ownership and have jumped in with both feet and no clue. But we all have to start somewhere. I a have a reasonable amount of knowledge as an amateur mechanic that has managed to keep most marks of landrover on the road throughout my life but had a sudden rush of blood to the head and went out and bought a Mog because I wanted to.

From this point forth please bear with me through my list of questions.

Second attempt as I posted too early but the possibly strange user name is my MSA call sign that I use within the rally world and not as a result of a love for fluffy animals with long ears.  :)

As I have said in the title really I am looking for a standard rim for my U1000 and a tyre to match what I currently have fitted. As long as the tyre is legal I'm not really fusy but a non directional pattern would be preferable.

What if anything has anyone got or does anyone have any ideas where I could obtain one for reasonable money?

Many thanks

Paul
