Remember you can only select a gate at a time on your Unimog model you can not go from say 2 to five without going into 3 or 4 same with the others 4 to 5 can be stiff to select when cold it’s a good sign because your going through a splitter and means the gearbox is nice and tight. I should change the gearbox oil whatever you fill it with make sure it’s gl4 but like I said I recommend 75/90 sin. Moose

Welcome to the club frank 👍 the prices on the ex ADF Unimogs is unreal compared to euro prices I’ve seen a few winches for sale off those but the cost of transport is expensive to ship to Uk. I would recommend changing your transmission oil to 75/90 sun as a lot of military Unimogs were filled with single grade oil for simplicity. Also find some 395/85r20 tyres and Hutchinson rims will make a massive difference to your Unimog Lastly when you say caravan make sure you fit a cushioned tow ball as recommended my Mercedes your Unimog has very hard suspension on the rear and can break an a frame on a caravan. Enjoy 👍

Hello Dan I’m going to sell my 1124 and I’m concentrating on my 1550l at the moment doing the winch rebuild today to be honest it’s got me down, over engineered ! But bloody awesome 7ton pull 30m a minute variable pull variable speed.by its complicated plus I’m thinking of mounting it on the rear for weight ditrubution. I’m going Unimog for the discomfort 😂😂😂
