Hello and welcome, I presume you mean 1300l as a 1300 is a very different machine and the 1300l is a popular Unimog for camper conversion.
The parts for steering conversion are Mercedes but you will struggle to buy them cheaply. I prosume your wanting right hand drive ? Personally I prefere left hand drive as the linkage is on the left and the right hand drive lever is bloody awfull I have a right hand drive 1550L and if I could be bothered Iíd change it over.
Go by engine hours on a Unimog not miles or KpH if itís a Unimog generally a hour meter on the front of the engine later Unimogs in the cab.
Spares thatís something youíll learn after owner said Unimog but the minimum is fuel filters x 10 and hub seals to start with.
Yes you can or could until brexit buy and import into UK Iíve not done it since brexit thereís some nice Singapore 1300l for sale at the moment high spec and rare to find now, thereís going to a shortage of old fashioned field repairable Unimogs in the years to come.
Have fun unimoging

Hi Tommy welcome aboard 👍 finding 404 that have been released from service is difficult as they are long retired.
The Unimog 404s is short on space inside but will make a good model with a crawl through from the camper body.
Regarding registering as long as it meets all criteria thereís no reason it shouldnít be registered as camper motorhome.
Are you plans to keep it petrol Lpg or diesel it ? Personally I like Lpg.
Keep an eye on the Dutch sites as there were lots of 404 in the past.
Any questions feel free to ask

Hi jane
I can not give an exact quote as I donít know the complete spec and the cabin looks rough but Iíd say 3/6k euro if it runs and drives ok, the cab condition and specification make a Unimog

Hi mall and welcome to the club 1983 you will have three piece axles and the difflock actuators are in side the axle case, best thing to do is isolate the axles thereís a flexible pipe where the torque tube connects to the transfer box clamp these front and rear to assertain which one is leaking, front is harder to do than the rear you can either remove the complete axle or split the axle in situ I prefere to remove.
Good luck

Ironically there a guy in Holland with all those bits he bought the mogs to break. The 419 has the strongest gearbox from the MB trac Range. Take my advice and flush the brake and clutch systems with fresh dot 4 as Iíll wager thatís not been done in years 👍 what are you going to use it for ?
