Anyone got a crane frame lying around that they don't want?

Ideally one with 4 legs attached and mounts to a 416.

I have one inspiration which springs to mind.... sell it!

keep the standard unimog one, and spend your time doing something else.  Aluminium and steel put together isn't a good mix without isolating it from each other to stop corrosion.

280 lts is around 250kgs as well, so it's going to take more fuel carting it around.

It's to mount my Scheisling front mount chipper to.

I've got a Vermeer 625AI on tracks which is fine, however i had a few jobs last year when chipper on the unimog would be better, especially as some theiving scumbag nicked my best army shovel off the mog when it was parked up in the wood 100yrds from where we were working with the chipper.

I will post you for your contact details thanks. Ed

Hi Moose,

Unfortunately i don't have anything at the mo, so it looks like i'll be making one myself instead.

I've got this working hitch for sale, it moves as it should do, and doesn't appear to be worn, I was going to try and make it fit my U900, but modified the trailer instead!

open to sensible cash offers, collected from near Alton Towers.

I'll put it on ebay in 1 week if no one is interested here...

Afternoon,

I've got a front mount chipper, so the winch has to come off, so if anyone has a din plate for swaps i'm after one right now.

The winch bracket was made by me so it was designed around the winch(it's also powdercoated), it fits on with the bumper in the 'close in' position, and comes complete with bolts to go straight onto your truck.  The hydraulic motor was replaced with a genuine Eaton one, which has only been used less than 5 times, and I overhauled it when I installed it, it's got an as new cable and safety hook.

The pull is great, and i'd recommend you don't double line pull onto the front bumper towing eye as it bends the bumper very quickly!

tel 07941 507845 this weekend, it's not in the picture as the camera battery died!

Genuine Mercedes Unimog Parts / U900 DIN plate Wanted

I'm after a DIN plate to wedge on my 406, with the mounts as well if possible, ideally the correct one, so if you one spare can you give me a shout, ta.

If you have a DIN plate from another model which is the right price I don't mind making it fit.

Looking forward to the responses, Ed

Stu,

Mine came from just outside Brighton one freezing cold Saturday morning so it would be more than glad to see you!

I can take some pictures for you, it's best to chat about it so can you find out how to contact me through this somehow without be wedging my tel number for all to see?

I could send them off the wifes phone then to yours if you have a new type of phone, rather than one that just rings like mine!

Stupot,

I have a radio remote control Tico @ 4.8t/m crane on my 406, it's behind the cab, on top of the loadbed, which is on a demountable subframe and takes 10 mins to get off ( however it rarely comes off), your welcome to come around and have a look how it's mounted, and I also have the unimog book of reference which states where to mount your frame onto, so you can see where Moose means.

Cranes are fantastic, and since I installed the Radio remove, I've found it even better and quicker to use, hence it rarely comes off.

I'm near Alton Towers.

I'd glady look after it, if I could have the keys and take if on hols with the family in it for a few months travelling around Europe!

After all, it would keep the battery charged, and all the running gear moving.... I don't know where LHR is though, is that down south?

:-)

I guess your allowed to break the rules for selling then!

Can you ban yourself?  :D

I'd speak to Simon at Vos and ask him for advise, I've always found him helpful.

He's going to know all about them and if you tell him what your after he may well have a set in which is not on the website yet.
