Tutorials / U800/U900/U1100 gear levers

for models U800(L), U900, U1100(L)(T)

A) Main gear lever
- 6 speed
- 2 working gears, 4 road gears

1 & 2 are usually only used in the fields and for reversing etc, 3,4,5 & 6 are the road gears.
Between the working gears and the road gears there is a gate that you need to tap the gear stick over to get to that set of gears.

B) Forward and reverse
- forward, neutral, and reverse

In order to get into reverse the main gear stick must be all the way over to the left (1st and 2nd area)
All the way forward is forward
middle is neutral
all the way back is reverse

c) Half gear splitter
- High, neutral, low

Use on hills for a half gear.

All the way back = high
Middle = neutral
All the way forward = low

D) Cascade lever
Crawler gears

S= super crawler, very slow
C= crawler, slow
0= neutral
I= Intermediate, road position
E)2x4 4x4 diff locks

- all the way down = 2 wheel drive
- Half way up = 4 wheel drive with gear box diff lock
- all the way up = 4 wheel drive and front and rear axle diff locks

ATTENTION, some unimogs have different systems.
1) The detent: This is where the lever needs to be given a little tug upwards to engage 4x4 and again for diff locks, and a push down to do the opposite.
2) Push and lift: This is where the lever is pushed slightly to the right and then lifted up.
3) Twist knob:
twist all the way to the left = 2 wheel drive
One click to the right = 4 wheel drive
2 clicks to the right = 4 wheel drive and diff locks

F)PTO's

PTO (power take off) is used for running implements on the front and rear of the vehicle.

All the way back = rear PTO
Second from the back = neutral
Second from the front = front PTO
All the way forward = front and rear PTO's

G)High speed under belly PTO
Not on this gear box, so ive just labeled where it is.

Unknown how to operate this, but we do have one for our unimog (yet to be fitted) so will be updated at some point.

Arnolds a man with style!

Apparently it cost $250,000 and it helps if your the ex-governor of California to get one over there apparently.

Not done to the style id choose, but hes still got a mog

North England / Newby hall Vintage rally

This year Unimog Club UK will be attending Newby halls vintage rally, which is run by the Yorkshire Vintage Association . We would be grateful If other Unimog owners would attend this with us, last year (before the club was made) we had a total of 6 Unimogs just by coincidence, so this year we are hoping for even more, the more Unimogs there are, the more people become aware of them!

This is a camping event, so we can chill out on an evening and have a few drinks around the barbecue and if i manage to find a projector we could even watch a few Unimog videos!

If you are interested in attending, or maybe you've already completed the form

then please reply to this thread so i know approximately how may people are going. if you have completed the form and posted it please say so.

This is an opportunity for us all to get to know each other better and also to look at each others Unimogs and get ideas for our own.

So lets get together and have some fun!
