Mercedes Offroad Wentworth
« on: November 01, 2018, 09:36:04 am »
As some of you may know I’ve been involved with Unimog for nearly 30 years professionally and enthusiastically.
in the last week I’ve been involved in the training event held at Wentworth park covering different areas of Unimog operation held simultaneously with the Unimog live show.
I have a lot of contacts built up over 30 years with Mercedes here and in Germany and we have been talking about organising a Unimog event at Wentworth with Mercedes.
There is an off-road site (built by me 👍 Unimog 406      Zetros )
Theres a large field and all the amenities we could ever wish for and centrally located.
What I want from people is interest levels and what people would want to see at such an event.
I’d like to have other Mercedes off-road vehicles too but I’d have to clarify this with Mercedes
We’re looking at spring 2019 so get those Unimogs roadworthy !

Hi, I'm interested but it depends on where Wentworth park is, because obviously I'll be driving a unimog and obviously it'll be agony.

It’s near Barnsley john I’ve allways found most Unimogs good to drive as long as your not in a rush. What model do you have ?

Excellent Idea - Hope you find good dates. We need to go to SA during the Spring school holidays so I'll make it if the meeting is outside those dates.

Kind regards

Gerard

Sounds a great idea to me.
Been the the Scottish Land Rover Show a couple of times & feel like it’s all designed to part everyone with as much money as possible.  They charge everyone who attends and do very little.
No doubt a Unimog event would be considerably smaller than a LR one, but an opportunity to get the Mog muddy have a few beers and catch up with like minded enthusiasts would be hard to beat.
Coming from Scotland - option of camping would be good.
Dan.

Hi moose, it is good to drive, as long as it only takes a hour or three after that a Land rover begins to look appealing, it's a u1000 on ag tyres so theres this agonising vibration and noise from the tyres, however I'm tempted to make some form of mog based holiday out of it cos Barnsley mlooks like 5 plus hours.
