Re the Ranger, a replacement engine would be easier but I have priced the parts from a company I trust and it looks like just over £600 for cam, 4 Pistons, liners, main bearings, shims, gaskets, rockers, clutch and anything else I could think of. The joys of a mass produced Mazda engine! And as most people are looking for between £600 and £1200 for an unwarranted 2nd hand lump I think I best invest some time stripping mine and checking it will go again first.
