Ok. I couldn't think of a specific section to put this in, so went with here.
As some of you know, recently I've been having some issues with my 4x4 and diff lock. It had grit stuck in the actuator and failed, so I cleaned it out and it worked again... Great. But now for the odd part. I can't see how it's related, but it might be?!...
I went out the other day try to play with it and the air pressure wasn't building. I have a leak in my trailer air system which empties the little tank after a day or so, but the main tank has been good. The inability to reach over 5 bar concerned me, so I turned up the regulator to try to fix it - it didn't work. The 4x4 and diff lock had also failed again. It was having none of it. Down to the low pressure I thought.
So, whilst searching around under the cab looking at pipes etc I noticed that the drivers side cab mount had rusted through and collapsed a bit. As you can imagine that didn't please me a great deal, so I went about figuring how to fix it. Luckily my neighbour is a very good welder and said he'd plate it up for me. The first job of many, or so I thought. I used a chain from the rear body to lift the can back to where it should be before propping it with a log (don't judge, it worked!) and today it has been welded up. It's nice and level, and the door now shuts better than it ever has (first time since I've had it anyway)! I think this has been lurking for some time without being noticed...
Anyway, I got in and started it up after the work was done. I like to just get things moving now and again. Luckily I noticed - the air gauge rocketed straight up to 8 bar and climbing! Some frantic stamping on the brake pedal soon got it back down, and I readjusted the regulator back to where it was. After that I thought I'd try the diff lock, and it works...

I reckon the cab moving about may have squashed a pipe perhaps? That could explain the intermittent fault with the lockers and the air pressure not being right? We haven't really touched anything else, so I'm a bit stuck. I still have a leak on the trailer air but it charges in about 30 seconds just like it used to.
All in all it's been a very strange day. I'm optimistic that I've fixed the locker/air issue, although I fail to see how and I may not have! I'm a bit baffled if I'm honest!
