fule tank & air pressure questions
« on: April 11, 2015, 06:10:57 pm »
Ive just been trying to spruce up the fuel tank on my 406 and noticed the wire is snapped that is bolted to the top of the disc thing on the top of the tank, im presuming this is why my fuel gauge dunt work ?

Also fired the mog up as not done so for over a month now and noticed the air pressure rose up to 8 and was still climbing before i shut it down and drained the air out.  Should it only go up as far as the red line (7.2ish)?  Would it eventually blow up if it dint blow off pressure ? and where does it release pressure from, it may have seized or clogged up.

Little wire would be from the sender unit I would think. Crimp a new terminal to it and see if it works when it's connected?

As for the air. Mine runs slightly over pressure but only by about 1/2 bar. The regulator on my 406 is on the passenger side behind the alcohol anti freeze unit. There's a small screw in the top of it that adjusts the blow off pressure, although I would think something is stuck for it to climb that high. I haven't taken mine apart to know how it works but it sounds like you need to!
