Lift rams are on... I have a leak!
« on: October 24, 2014, 05:41:53 pm »
I had another day of battling with the mog linkage today. I'm actually somewhere near being done now. Getting the rams into the chassis rails is a laugh isn't it.... They don't give you a lot of room in there! I've connected my tipper ram to one of the front feeds for now and am using both the back ones on the linkage. It's connected up and it moves (it's pretty rusty and used to be seized solid, so that's actually quite a result!).

It seems though that I now have a leak in one of the metal pipes that connects the two linkage rams together. Is this something I can replace with a flexi type design, or do I need to have the fittings made up from steel?

I also went and got a hose made up so I can pump my tyres up from one of the trailer feeds. I've adapted a blanked off palm coupling to 1/4 bayonet so a standard airline plugs into it. Should do the trick. Now I just need to find a clamp on hose so I don't have to stand and hold the airline on there while it pumps up.

I'm not sure re. the length. Thanks though - I'll do that. If you don't have enough pipe I can always buy us some more. It's the ability to do anything with it that I'm lacking! :D

It's already been patched. I'm not sure there would be anything left of it if I shot blasted it!

Neil, I have a genuine tyre inflation hose here. Brand new and in the wrapper. It clips on and I dint need it. I use my workshop one from an outlet I fitted.  :)

I just ordered all the bits to make one... Bugger! How much do you want for it? I might just buy yours off of you to save the effort of putting it all together!
