So the cutting a welding begins
« on: April 06, 2015, 06:56:14 pm »
Hi all,
So after felling  pretty rough this weekend I've started cutting the rust out the cab today (well afternoon) and after thinking my mog had a six cylinder engine turns out it's a four-cylinder engine :- :-* taken the back off (good having an hiab on the back). Off to have it Sand blasted so we will see what's left of it .didn't have the cab done don,t think there be much left of it . does anybody know what thickness steel they used think I've got some 0.09mm

Thanks all

Best of luck welding your 0.09mm steel...

I used 2mm to repair mine in the main, with 3mm around mounts.

It was similar to the original steel

How are you getting on Phill? Mine's just developed a leak from the end of the axle... There's always something!

Hi Neil

Well not enough hours in the day specially when your self-employed .stripped lots of bits off .the backs tipper off reddy to be  Sand blasted , old battery box bined but have put a new on and a new big battery . Old arches bonnet scraped, cut out  passenger-side floors reddy to go back in new head light and the list goes on . Is it ok to come this  Saturday Neil?

This Saturday should be fine as long as you can make it before mid afternoon? Got a bit of work to do at about 3 but free before that. I've got a few people want to come for various things so will make sure I'm home. Tony off of here may be passing at some point too, so you may get to put another face to a name.

It sounds like my cab may be pretty tidy in comparison. I've got some rust but so far nothing looks like it's going to fall off any time soon!
