I used dinitrol on my truck, it was recommended in practical classics. this was around 3 years ago my truck had a lot of surface rust on the chassis.
I started by blasting the chassis then I primed it painted it with a couple coats of black paint & coated it with dinitrol. I also did the inside of the chassis with dinitrol cavity wax. I would recommend it as a good product.

That's the one you can use dinitrol straight onto rust and it goes black as it converts the rust. Years ago Mercedes used to recommend spraying the chassis with 10w oil and I've worked on Unimogs that have had this done and they are a joy to work on I still do this on work Unimogs but on a show bus what Steve said above is best.
