chassis numbers
« on: April 02, 2015, 01:13:50 pm »
Hi Everyone

Can someone explain the chassis number system to me, my chassis starts with 406145, now South Cave Tractors say commercial spec Mogs start 406142 or 406143, he thinks the 406145 is special military build. Can anyone shed some light on this

James

The second block of three numbers refers to the cab type. Mine is a 406.121 - hard top. The other common one is a 406.120 - soft top. 406.145 is the doka designation.

I'm not certain about the rest. 10 is left hand drive I believe? I think that comes next in the type designation and after that it's just a serial number.

The 406-145 was the short wheel base version of the doka, so basically a 406 with a crew cab, only available to the military, so yes, it's a military designation :)
