Relatively new Unimog Owner in NZ
« on: July 08, 2023, 03:13:22 am »
Hello all,

nice to find this site! Me and the Mrs have a Ex-NZ army U1700L that we are converting to a camper truck by chucking a pod on the back. I'm not allowed to try to build one because she says it will never get built. 'Snot fair I say but she's the boss.

The Mog is in very good nick as it did benefit from a couple of owners before me after it got de-mobbed. They did all the TLC, but for one reason or another couldn't realise its full potential. So far it has only cost me a new 4-way valve to pass our CoF. Now we are in the process of acquiring a ready-made Pod to throw on the back and get our "self-contained Camper" cert and then we're away!

i am busy learning everything I can so i can do as much maintenance as possible on the truck. So looking forward to picking everyone's brains! Mucho graciarse!
