Hi Nick, and welcome to the forum.

A love of mogs is certainly a bit unusual. There are more of us about than you realise when you start looking harder, but when you consider though that a lot of people have never even heard of them when you mention them it's not surprising we can be a little hard to find! Since buying mine I have found several users local to me. I have a 404, 406 and a U1000 within 5 miles of home, probably more too. One of them is a member here and the rest I am doing my best to catch up with to send them this way.

The forum is only small at the moment but there's some great info being posted up and it is slowly growing. I think in a few years it will be one of the best (if not the best) sources of info in the UK. Have a good look around and enjoy your stay. And if you have any pics of projects or just vehicles you have owned or like the look of then post them up. We'd love to see them. If you don't have one then that's no bother. I didn't when I started on here and the lads were a great help when it came to asking about potential purchases. It took me a while but I got there in the end! 8)

Thanks guys. Unfortunatley I don't own a mog at the moment, sorry to disappoint, but am looking into rectify this problem (unless the missis finds out) however my quest may have been thwarted right from the word go as I've just got a couple quotes for a old u900 , secure parking, light use and not a commercial vehicle, both quotes were £750 mark ! Is this right? I allus thort they were cheap to insure specialy with it been registered agricultural.
Looking through this site it is clear there is a lot of guys who realy know their stuff, so if I do eventually get one I know where To ask for advice.

I'm 33 years old, driveway parking and insured as a vintage tractor whilst I do it up (not working it yet so why insure it as such). My premium assuming a vehicle value of £9k, fully comp and an estimated 1000 miles use per year came to the grand total of £110.87. That was through a broker company named HIC, who specialise in vintage tractors.

I can't use it for any work purposes, just domestic. It's not insured for track days but is ok for tractor rallies so things like the club meet etc are covered. If you want to just have one as a toy then this sort of cover should do nicely for you and shouldn't cost anywhere near what you're looking at.

mines is a 406 full commercial policy and its £650 fully comp with implement insured too, i had it insured as agricultural through nfu at first at £220 but it stated no domestic tree surgery on the policy so that was not much cope for me. But nfu were 1000 on a commercial policy so I'm now with adrian flux.
you will get it cheaper than £750 thats for sure.

Just buy one first then worry about that insurance/parts/maintenance etc etc after  :D
