Thats the one. Mounted on their own bumper frame. I tend to fire the diff locks in and reverse up a yard or two aswell!! Things tend to happen a bit quicker then :)

Heyup Robert hows the u900 grafting away busy I bet with these winds. Its treedweller from arbtalk by the way. My winch has come into its own recently with windblown and hung up trees all over the shop I just wish it was a bit quicker.

Arhhh I almost bought this mog!!! I had a trip up to vos to look at it and decided it was too much of a project to make into a work vehicle. That was when I spotted my u900 at the top of the main yard. When I viewed it there was another chap from Harrogate with his father looking at it. Was that you? It did have a shiny new fuel tank :)

Great info guys! In regards to the front mount im looking at a greenmech tmp150 which is side mounted. Think this might keep the weight closer to the front axel.it also only weighs 490kg which fairly feather weight really. I did a bit of towing today with a 8t Dump trailer and it sits at 55k  quite happily itsjust getting there lol

Aye I know what your saying and I think that is why square cabs are often looked at as expensive to run. They more power you have the more you tow and the faster you go. Its stands to reason that things are going to break or wear out quicker. I would be happy with 150hp which I would like to think would be achievable with a low pressure turbo setup. More to take advantage of the lower torque curve than out and out power.

Yeah i've seen that but its the same as what I already have minus the reverser box. Its under a ton but still makes the mog sit down an inch or two. Most mog owners that run front mounts say the u900 is a bit light to run 8"+ chippers up front. On the tuning front my mog had about 85ish HP when new and from what I can gather 120hp is a factory spec for this engine. Also the om352 was turbocharged to 150-160hp from the factor too and im not talking om352a with oil squirters either. It is a low comp lazy plodder of an engine so I would of thought you would have to get something propper wrong to melt one! There is a place near preston called merlin that recon and tune pumps for vos and price and can get you to 120hp no problems. My issue is I cant afford to have it off the road for a couple of weeks. But could maybe manage it for a turbo :)

Just thought id say hello and sign up to the forum. I have a 1963 u900 406 that I use weekly for tree work. I bought it from Vos in Oct last yr and I love it to bits!! Its great some times I drive it more than my pickup just because I can :)
Its a full Ag spec model and ive added a rather large chipbox to the rear bed and it is also fitted with Vos's own winch bumper with 5t hydraulic winch. My plans for the future are to fit front linkage and pto reverser. Also I would like some more grunt and have looked into having the pump recalibrated with the larger plungers. I've spoken to vos about a turbo conversion for the u900 but its still developmental and as such cost quite a bit. If anyone has any info on tuning it would be welcomed.
Cheers people :)
