Mog Spotting / Re: Grey Swiss army 411 on eBay
« on: February 25, 2014, 08:24:25 am »
Hi all,
Seems all my questions on this thread answered, I feel a tutorial request coming on as to what are the differences between a 411 and a 401, showing my lack of knowledge.
It did look to me more 50's style than later 60's.
Thank you all for your input   :)

thanks all for your replies.
this swiss mog was advertised as having been stood 12-15yrs and looked like a barn find. it had yellow and blue stencilled writing on the windscreen like I've seen some mogs have at shows. don't know what that's supposed to be for?
it also had a strange almost too high single cab steel roof, similar to the front of the snow blower design but stops with a bulkhead at the rear of the seats. and the clip in canvas side windows.
It's not on ebay at the moment but I emailed the seller and still for sale. shame I cant afford it,
I'll have to be careful if there are fraudsters out there, not good

thanks craig, that's helpful.
As I am looking for an old 411 model and seemingly they are known for being pretty pedestrian in the road speed department I thought I'd need a flashing light. might be a good idea to use one, especially in dark winter months.

Mog Spotting / Grey Swiss army 411 on eBay

Hi all
Did any one see the little grey 411 on eBay last month?
I was really quite interested in it but seemed way too expensive for my current budget £14k
Does any one know anything about this vehicle, it's spec or history?
Cheers.

Non Unimog Chat / Amber flashing light on public roads
« on: February 22, 2014, 08:16:28 pm »
Hi all
I'm new to the world of unimogs and agricultureal vehicles. My query is does any one know the rules about needing an amber flashing light when driving on public roads?
You see many normal farm tractors with them. Do unimogs only need them when "working"?
This may seem a silly question I could have googled but nice to chat n share with other people.
Have a good Cheers.

Would love to drop round one weekend and see the beast.
Would give me an idea what I'm letting myself in for and you might be able to point out where to look for on mog 411 when buying?

Hi villager

Thanks for the reply. I don't actually own a unimog yet. My 914 is an old two seat porsche I restored 12yrs ago.
The Germans love their type designation numbers. I used to own one of the last few remaining VW 411's and that's not unimog either. All easy to get mixed up in conversation.
That Westy project looks brill. Hours n hours of work there. Awsome

Hi guys, thanks for the warm welcome. I hope it's not too long before a mog comes my way.
Like all lads I'd love the biggest most powerful and most spec'd up vehicle. But I only hav a normal height
Garage and in the middle of a council estate can't risk leaving such as a 404 out unsecured.
I hav restored and ran my 914 for over 13yrs now and lost interest. So will probably sell it to fund the 411 if there are any out there?.
Is it ok in this company to call the 411 a mini mog I don't want to be disrespectful. They still look a plenty capable machine given their age and size.

Hi all,

I've dropped in on the site once or twice in the past and only thought it right to join properly.
I'm not a Mog owner but I am looking to buy a 411 as a project.
I work for a Mercedes passenger car dealer and have always had a fascination for unimogs and their capability.
I hope to maybe catch up and meet with a few of you at shows if not on the forums here.
Chat with you soon,   Cheers
