Hi Moose,

1700 L so same difference (as far as I know)

Yes the tyres are worn & will be expensive to replace but I have budgeted for that.

I'm no longer Mogless!

I'm now the proud owner of an U1700L  ;D

Cheers for that,

As long as every HGV on the motorway isn't having to crawl past me that's quick enough.

Thanks for confirming that.

Whilst it's not my main consideration can someone please tell me what top speed I can reasonably expect from an unloaded Ex military U1300 that is in good fettle?

As long as it will sit comfortably with HGV's on the motorway I'll be happy so I guess I'm looking for confirmation they will cruise at 50mph +

Thanks,

Mick.

Thanks for the chassis tip on the 2450, I wasn't aware of that.

Mog type numbers aren't at all confusing to a newbie  ::)

Who are the best dealers then?

I've found a Milsurp dealer in Doncaster but that's about it so far.

Thanks for the welcome.

At the moment I'm contemplating buying either a 1300 or 1500 with the intention of converting to an overland camper.

I've also seen a 2450 but that could be taking the proverbial.

Hi,

After owning LR Series vehicles & Defenders  (hope they aren't considered swear words in these parts) I'm now seriously considering buying an Unimog.

Looking at either purchasing a ready built camper or converting one myself.

Great to find a forum for all things Unimog, I'm sure I will have lots of questions soon.
