Red Cross Unimog - Live on sky at speed
« on: February 04, 2014, 02:28:25 pm »
Sky news just shown the Red Cross Unimog working in the Somerset floods while Prince Charles visits Muchelney. Going at a fair but safe pace as water not even at the bumper.

It's nice to have them out and doing something in the UK. It's not often you see them around here.

There is a red cross one often parked near us Neil, it is left on the side of the A46 by the Tipitts Inn overnight and then moved so I guess someone nearby must work for the red cross or stop over in the pub :D.

my dad delivered that mog, and the one before it, the one before was sent abroad, they have this thing where once its sent abroad thats it, they never see it again, its more cost effective to buy a new one apparently.

Probably right if they sell them out there? For a charity, I suppose whatever makes the best financial sense is the way to go.

I've never seen the mog by the Tipputs. Think I may have to start drinking up there more regularly to hone my crazy stalker skills! :D

Hmm. If that's the case I may have to reconsider my donations and send them to someone who doesn't waste them! ::)

You'd think they'd at least make something out of them... It's an expensive piece of kit to just dump!

Here is our Red Cross mog based on NW scotland. It is a comms vehicle we use for endurance events, flooding etc.

We took it down to the flooding in Cockermouth and other emergency responses in Scotland.
