Christmas Project Coming Along...
« on: January 04, 2014, 07:17:25 pm »
Evening all!!... never joined one of these forum thingy's but thought I would as I've been working on a 'Mog' over the Xmas break. It's in our yard for a bit of a birthday for a local landscaping company.
Believe it's '79 406 but don't quote me on that.
The poor old girl is in need of a new pair of front wheel arches.. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get some?...

Hi mowmart,
Welcome to Unimog club uk,

You should be able to get the arch's from any Unimog dealer, or ebay.de
You can go for a used pair of originals, if you can find a good set, or you can get schuster ones, they're an after market thing, haven't quite got the roll on the edge like mercs, but they're a very good imitation and you wouldn't know without running your finger under the edge :)

Cheers, Brian

Hi Mowmart

These guys are based in germany and they seem to have all the arches at not silly money.

When you do find some do tell us where from. My U900 arches both look like they've had one too many meetings with the trees the mog used to work with!

Not that long ago I was a complete computer newbie. Now I spend loads of time on forums talking about the things I enjoy. It's a fantastic way to pick up tips, and also gives a good feeling when you know enough to help other folk out.

Oh, and for the pictures at the moment they hve to be uploaded via a website like photobucket, we have a tutorial on here,. I am looking at solutions to our "file attachment" size limit at the moment.
