sorry Neil, the bracket is there due to it being a long wheel base, youll notice this chassis has more cross tubes than yours ;)

I still havent got those measurement but i will get them for you :)

The boot was already there, i literally just bolted it down, because it was loose :) you could try the dealers though, theyll probably have one lying around from breaking them, theyre quite bad for splitting :P and you cant really make them, theyre a very unique shape .

not much to update on this really, started putting some filler on the cab, removed everything from the sides (diesel tank etc) and we're currently looking at roll cage options, contemplating integrating the cab mounts into the cage :)

I've been thinking about a roll cage for mine. Something easy to remove so the cab can be tilted would be good, but I guess it also has to be three point mounted? Both front chassis members and a swivel mount at the rear perhaps?

Neil with regard to roll cages it may be worth following the lead of the likes of the Dakar Trucks and vehicles used for desert raids. They have the cage integral to the cab. Keeping the the ability to tilt the cab and then have a roll bar mounted to the rear body which is seperate to the cab mounted cage. This gives you and front and rear cage that are independant. The front cage takes care of the crew safety and the rear roll bar should maintain the overall integrity. If you build a cage back to the chassis you will loose flex of end up with a cage and a cab that try to argue with each other won't you? Just my simple ramblings as i have looked at cages for wagons in general before and briefly looked at the mog however i have decided that i have far more urgent jobs than a cage. As good as it would look!!!

I don't think it's something you have to worry about so much? I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that the strength of the square cab is vastly improved over the previous models (mine). Going over in a round cab is not something that you want to do.

Knowing what they are capable of I very much doubt I will ever push it anywhere near it's limit, but I would be much happier knowing I had something over my head should the worst happen! I'll have a closer look at some of the Breslau videos on Youtube. That could offer up some info perhaps. The forestry mogs had a good cage on them but it takes up bed space and I don't want that.

Just bought some rims of ebay they are split rims 11x20s not a very popular rim as a rule unless you know what they are but for our purpose the are perfect very strong heavy and best of all can be fitted with run flats.
Main reason there not popular is they rust and when rusty they are difficult to split and indeed these are rusty, done two of them gonna get them shot blasted but wondering what to paint them with, needs to be hard as nails but thin due to the nature of these split rims, thinking about painting them with POR 15 used it before but I think it's best used on rusty metal to adhere properly.
Will put some pictures up when there done.

Wow that was hard work one rim per night they where properly rusty, down to the shot boasters next and then a suitable coating and then the most expensive bit TIRES I wish you could still buy the old Michelin bibex xm47 they were awsome tires the new xm47 isn't a patch on them still good in my opinion marginally better than the Continental Ac70. The cases on the xm are the same I think but I'm sure the rubber is of a softer material and the old bibex tire had a more aggresive tread and they also had a bead protector as well. We need to find someone that can retread the cases with the bibex patern.
