Learning about my 404
« on: September 09, 2013, 11:35:21 am »
I took my 404 on its first off road trip this weekend.  Not many pictures as I was too busy driving.  These are where I was testing the flex, being new to Mogs I was surprised at how much it did flex.

Following advice on the forum I have stuck some weight on the back of the chassis.  The box contains 150kg of gravel.

Look like you had fun :)

this is a prime picture to show one of the unimogs flexing secrets, it shows the chassis flexing, look at the top of the box, in comparison to the back of the cab

on our 406 145, dad once tried lifting the back wheel with a forklift, it lifted 3 feet before it started to pick up another wheel, and thats on a 145 chassis, the cab of which isnt isometrically mounted!

Its looking smart at the moment anyway! i do like the **** look  :D :P

Where I live there are three army driver training areas within 2 miles of the house.  Various 4x4 clubs get access to the land and they are great pay and play sites.  Unfortunately the army are leaving the town in the summer and access to the land is going to be lost.
