A word of caution, it's not just as simple as fitting a turbo & manifold onto the 617, the turbo diesel motors need piston cooling (the small bent oil pipe below the pistons, that cool them) a friend fitted a turbo set up on his and it went pop (his was in a very early g.wagen)

I was thinking about going down the 3l turbo route, but my mog came with 3 brand new spare engines, so don't know what to do yet.
