If the hub got that hot i would as a minimum replace the oil if you haven't already as it may well have lost its lubricating properties and secondly check the seals have not suffered from the heat. I had a over heating pair of front hubs (due to failing bearings in my case) and it cooked the seals....
Oh and which engine does it have? Plus were the oil seals a drama?
