Let me introduce myself
« on: December 25, 2017, 07:00:59 am »
Dear colleagues
I am a passionate Unimog-Fan since 1976. It was love at first sight. Apart from driving, I also like to investigate the history of Unimog and particular vehicles and I am the treasuerer of the "mother of all Unimog-Club" - the famous Unimog-Club Gaggenau with 6600 members and also a member of the board of the Unimog Museum.
Hope to meet many of you at next years annual gathering to be held from June 15 through 17, 2018 in Gaggenau, Germany. There will be space available for up to 700 vehicules. Save the date.
Look Forward to Hearing from you

Claudio aka Dieseli

Welcome Claudio

I hope you enjoy looking round our club site and if you are able to help with answers, please don't hesitate to reply to it. the more information we can pass round the better!

I'm sure that a few of our members have been to visit the famous gaggenau museum, I my self have not managed to make it across yet. I had planned to drive my 406 over at soem point but unfortunately it won't be happening now.

Cheers

Hi Claudio, and welcome to the club.

It's nice to have someone from the Gaggenau club join and introduce themselves, I am hoping to work closers with other clubs in the future as that is what clubs are about :)
Mr Flamer made us aware of the event in June, we are a planning to attend but it might not be in a Unimog this year unfortunately, most likely it will be in our 1124AF 4x4.
Unless we have the rally Unimog finished, in which case we may take the rally unimog on the trailer behind the 1124 and head straight to the breslau rally from Gaggenau.
We do a lot with unimogs and In 2011 we drove a 1972 u900-406 120 to the 60 years celebrations of mercedes unimog which was a good journey :) at some point I would like to take our 406-145 to a celebration but that will be at some point in the future. For 70 years of mercedes unimog we are planning a convoy over, we will be taking our 411's and anyone wishing to join us can tag on the convoy on the way down :)
Thank you for joining the club, Brian

Hello Claudio, I have visited Germany many times now and have always fancied visiting Baden Baden which is near to Gaggenau as you will be aware, so this this could be a great chance to combine a holliday to Baden Baden and a visit to a unimog meet. Would the event be open to the general public or is it for unimog owners only, if it is would I require tiickets or could I just turn up at the door?      Regards, Nick
