1700 L so same difference (as far as I know)

Yes the tyres are worn & will be expensive to replace but I have budgeted for that.
Interesting this one many years ago when I was drinking with some guys from the factory I remeber them telling me that the L actually meant it was an offroad chassis , I was a bit tipsy and meant to clarify this  the next morning but forgot, I hope to be back over there this month Martin ******* is retiring soon he's an amazing chap a really nice guy and I will miss his Unimog wisdom. I'll ask him if I remember. But interestingly the long wheelbase mogs are the best offroad and indeed Martin told me the factory considered the1550L the best offroad chassis ever built, my personal preference is the 1100l its more manuverable.
