Looks good. I need to start making a few pilgrimages to these events. Not sure the mrs would enjoy it but hey, I take her shopping often enough! :D

If you want to see top quality old unimogs in mass then these European trips are a must.
I'll take plenty of pictures of anything unusual and hope to find a few spare parts to bring back for my 411 as well.

I have recently arrived back from the Unimog summer meeting at Immensen Germany.
As usual for these German shows, plenty of top quality unimogs on display, with some people travelling for many days to arrive and show off their vehicles.
I enclose a few pictures to give an idea of the show.

Plenty of traders selling both new genuine and repro parts for the early unimogs

Some rusty used stuff as well

Some unimogs looked better than new

One of the many rows of lovely unimogs

A bit of off road, but not for the faint hearted

Accessories

Time well spent if you like the older stuff.

Nice to see the doka as mine looked when I got it nearly twenty years ago. Brian sent me a link recently for one that sold in auction for over 60k ! And I thought I didn't have a pension  :D
We'll be going over next year to that one did you go in the van ?

Moose I did here about the auction and by all accounts from the guys at the show the double cab was not as clean as the one in my photos. Some of these unimogs really do change hands for big money.
I took the VW over as it makes light work of driving so many miles. Now with cruise control :)
The same show will be further south in Germany next year, but I just might drive down in the 411.

Yep Brian & I pulled the pictures to bits when we saw them especially under the bonnet with dinitrol splashed all over, maybe Brian can find the pictures again.
I'd like to go over to the Netherlands in my 411 but Southern Germany was a long drive in a 160hp u900 ! You should fit your Audi engine into a 411.
I must say I've just become a vw owner and I could fancy a van with your engine conversion  :)
On reflection I'll drive to Gagganau in my 411 for the 70 years  :D 2021 god that's scary

This will make you shed a tear, a mate of mine had a doka similar to that, an ex military one, they sold it on and the next owner cut the cab down, to make it back to a standard cab.

in the 90s when the doka 406s were released loads were converted to single cabs, there value has gone up over the years it's the same with classic tractors the crapy tractors are worth more now than good one look at gray Ferguson good tractor loads of them around can be bought for good money . Not that the doka was crap but it's not as practicle without the load bed  :)
Also take the westfalia 411s  twenty years ago they were being broken for parts now they are hard to come by there value is rising now.

UPDATE: Sold for €82,800 (£65,680)

:o That for a super standard mog. High ratio hubs must fetch a fair bit, assuming it has them.

I spotted a company at the show that sell a gearbox upgrade that can give extra gears and associated road speed from there conversion. I would like to find out more about this. I'll post up any news I can find.
