Shooting some of them is essential to maintain a healthy population. Shooting deer is actually good for them - well maybe not the one you shoot but the rest of them! You're talking to the master of the art of justification.

Foxes are a bit harder to explain off. I think you need to see first hand what they can do to a hen house or newborn lamb to appreciate that some of them need to be culled. But then even foxes are nice to see in areas where they're not harming anything. No point shooting them for the sake of it.
