Meet the gang...
« on: January 05, 2016, 08:07:18 pm »
...coz the boys are here, the boys to entertain you...

What - you mean this ISN'T the '70s comedy thread?  Oh well...

Here is my little collection of green machines.

Belgian 404, troop carrier.  Previous owner said it was used as an ambulance during Operation Crossed Swords (whatever that was) but I don't really know much about it.  We took it to the Ursel show last year, which was fun (although replacing a flat tyre on the Rotterdam ring-road wasn't exactly a barrel of laughs).
Next is "Heidi" our Laro Verkenner, which is Dutch for Recce Land Rover.

and this is the third member of the gang.  Moto Guzzi V50 despatch.  The bottle is because she'd just won a prize in the bikes section of a local vehicle show, much to the displeasure of all the other entrants who's spent the previous week polishing their chrome  :-)

Yeah - it's quite often the only machine in a bike show that doesn't have any chrome on it.  I wonder if sometimes the judges just like the fact that it's a bit different.

Earliest picture I have of the Mog.  A few days after we bought her, sitting on the drive dressed-up in Berlin Brigade colours.
Took us ages to figure-out why it was so dark in the living room  ;-)

Last summer we had a little holiday in Belgium, land of frites, chocolate and trappist beer (oh yes!).
Of course, we went in the two-seater soft-top Mercedes.  No other way to travel really, is there?
Snapped this whilst Mrs F104G was taking advantage of a service station somewhere along the way.

Thanks

there are a few civvy versions around too.  Apart from the lack of chrome, you can also spot a military spec V50 by the kickstarter, which is just about visible in the photo below the exhaust pipe.
