Nope no drilling required. Merc had even though of that! After I had bailed most of it out and lifted the carpet I found rubber drain bungs!

Anyway it will be a while longer as the ranger that I have has it now appears a broken cam shaft, 2 broken rockers, a badly burnt piston and a pitted piston!  Time to rebuild that one first and another delay to getting the cab heater installed in the Mog.
