It's a torque convertor put your foot on the brake and lift the clutch if it doesn't stall its a torque convertor. Best bit of advise I can give you is do not slip the clutch ! Because as standard they are fitted with a mineral clutch plate that is very small in comparison to standard Mog clutch. Saying that when we stripped the clutch out of our 416 it had been replaced with a cinted plate, much better.
Other thing about your 417 is Dinitrol dinitrol dinitrol especially the back of the cab the bottom of the 417 cab is the original 120 cab when they fitted the roof extension there are three sheets of metal there and they rot for fun.
