Yeah that too. It's still a lot of money for just those bits to.

Finally got round to getting the parts for the unimog, I now have the Rams and everything apart from the lifting arms for the rear of the mog. Hopefully at the weekend I will have a din plate for the front and a front din linkage to go on but I think this could be off a later version.
Struggling at the moment to remove the rear bar where the pto attaches to. I am trying to remove it so I can wire brush everything back then I am going to Raptor spray the full chassis. I also found a leaky air pipe on the front that's put my air pressure up to 7.5 bar!
Will upload photos shortly.

Finally got half a day spent on the mog today. Had to grind out 2 bolts that held the x frame on because they rounded. you can notice in one of the photos that there is a pin welded which holds the back on, is this normal? It was a nightmare to get at to grind out and knock the pin out but it came of easy enough after I did it. It's been a bit of a nightmare but I am glad to slowly be making progress. Next job is to rub the chassis down then I can get on painting it!

If it's the pin I think it is yes it's standard you need to take the rear crossmember bolts out first then take the side ones out to release the cast brackets always best to spray these bolts well in advance.

I did that the other day, thinking that's how it came off but problem was the the bloke who had it before decided to weld the brackets on so I was a bit stuck between a lot of grinding or a little bit.
Just been told I have 3 days to move as well as the bloke who owns the shed I have the mog in is moving!

Had a full day at it today but the rain was that bad it was coming in the shed and I only got one photo before my phone died.
The x frame on top has been fully rubbed down and ready to paint, some of the back is brushed up. I have just got a couple of pipes to change and do a bit more with the wire brush then the back will be getting painted and then just fit everything back together.
I also changed the engine oil, gearbox and rear axel.

A few more photos of stuff done. I haven't had a lot of time at the minuet but slowly getting there, rear linkage is about finished. Sorted the diff locks out and was well impressed where it could go even on bald tyres. Has anyone found that knocking the diffs in and out uses a lot of air?

Looks like you are making good progress.  Is there a particular reason why you put the rear cross member on upside down?

Best,
BWSwede

Cheers, it's slow but it is working progress.

Ha, glad you noticed that. There isn't a particular reason I just put it on to take a photo, it's coming off when I put the rams and arms in behind it.

Using the diff locks shouldn't use a lot of air only a hundred cc's or so are they leaking normally given away by the smell of EP oil coming from the top of gearbox.

I don't think they were leaking, I had a look around to see if I could hear any leaks but I couldn't find any. If it's left for a few days the tank still holds air in it. You can smell like gearbox oil but I kind of thought that was just normal.

Anyways, I did a 738 mile round trip at 16.6 mpg on the way back and bought a chipper and tipping box which was off an old transit then converted for a u900. I am well pleased with these buys. I am giving myself a bit of a push and going to try getting them on and working for the weekend. Started getting the hydraulics all connected up. Do you have to have the link arms all the way up when you go to use the tipping ram, I am really struggling to figure out how it all goes.

If anyone has a spare set of link arms I would be interested in purchasing them.

Has anyone get any tips for insuring the mog, I went to go through Nfu but they told me that they don't insure unimogs and Trust insurance is quoting me £800!
